Just curious! I am using towels that I got as a shower gift 10 years ago. I believe I still have some from college too. Those I dont use very often but they are in the pile! Of course the kids have newer towels in their bathroom!

I think I might treat myself to some new ones! haha that is how you know you are a mom, when it is exciting to get new towels!

I've been married over 18 years. I think I have some from a bridal shower and I have some I bought a couple of months ago. :)

We bought new towels 6 years ago when we moved to our new house. Got them from Kohl's and they have held up very well. I'm impressed that you have towels from 18 yrs. ago:thumbsup2
I had a bridal shower but no one gave me towels:confused3

Mine are right at 2 yrs old... I got them when I changed the color scheme in my bathroom.

The towels in DH's bathroom are old, old, old. Some probably 20+ years. A few are maybe 10 years old. The towels in my bathroom are 3-4 years old. I don't buy towels very often, as I like "pretty ones" as in printed designs and you just don't find those anymore. They are all plain, solid color. Boring. :(

They range from a few months old to a few that are still around (and in decent shape!) that I got for my bridal shower almost 21 years ago!

Not super old, but they are the cheap Walmart ones.

We are doing a bathroom remodel and ordered new towels to match, which should be here in a couple of days.

Then DH can get the Walmart towels for his garage.

I have some that are 20 years old and others that are 5 years old. And some we got as a wedding gift 22 yrs ago that we use, but not as much, because they've never matched any color scheme we've had (brown towels).

too old to admit to..lets just say it does not take long for them to dry after using them :rolleyes1

Mine are 1 month old. I got 12 white bath towels for Christmas from my darling DD17. I guess she heard me complaining about our ancient, graying towels and decided to fix me up. Oh, and I got 24 washclothes. We should be set for the next 15-20 years.:thumbsup2

Ha ha! I have been married 18 years, as well. I KNOW I still have some from our shower! They look like dang-it, but they still work!!! :rotfl:

Mine are about 7 years old. I'm neurotic about matching bath towels hanging and in the closet so when I buy towels I buy tons of them (last time I got 20 bath/20 wash cloth/10 hand towels). Being that I always rotate them, they last longer. Just this past year, I've started noticing some wear and fraying so as they look bad, I turn them into rags. I figure I can get away with this until I have about 8 bath towels. (maybe another year???) At that time, I'll donate what's left to the animal rescue and start over with an obscene amount of towels. I'm on my 3rd cycle of doing it this way.

I want to buy all new towels and new sheets this year!

I have a few KMart towels from College - 15 years ago. I have mostly towels from our wedding shower (which never matched anything) about 7 years ago. I have two towels from about 6 months ago!

I think I win. I still have and use 3 of the bath towels that I got for my HS graduation, which makes them ... 32 years old! :scared1: (They actually are in excellent condition; I guess they were made to last.)

The newest ones that I have are about 5 years old, I think. I don't ever buy cut-pile towels; loop terry seems to absorb better.

Most of mine are at least 10 years old. They are starting to look pretty raggedy. Soon we are going to pain the bathroom and I am going to make new curtains, so we have a new shower curtain and new towels just waiting for Spring. Everything new all matches, I have never had anything like that, most of my stuff is just a mix of sets we got when we got married.

Well, the basement bathroom has some of the towels I got when I graduated from High School, 40 year s ago. The towels I'm using are new as of December. I have towels from many phases in my life. My last set really ravelled. I trimmed them until it was time to send them to the basement bathroom-thats where the teenaged boys shower and leave the towels on the floor in a heap for days. I do not clean up after them. Eventually my son throws them in the washer and starts again. :)

I buy new bath towels probably every six months. Usually four at a time.

The "old" towels become car washing towels or gun cleaning towels for DH, and THOSE old towels become garage rags.

I bought mine when we redid the bathroom, in our last house, summer of 2000.
