OK, I don't think I'm going to get many responses, but here goes, anyway: Ther e has been a lot of discussion about the merits of Disney changing old favorites to thrill rides or just changing them to something different and not loved by everyone {imagination, for example} I suspect that the folks that did not want to see changes {Horizons,World of Motion, not running CoP, etc., etc.,} are a little older than teenagers. I myself am 55 and I miss those old attractions a LOT! Anybody else want to make that assumption. Ladies you don't need to give your actual age, just wheather you think this is true.

As a 30 year old I do remember all of the rides that have been replaced. And I must say that I too loved them. I couldn't wait to get to Epcot and ride the GM ride and Horizons. Funny b/c they were my two favorites and now they are gone. However, I love test track and will see about mission space in a few weeks. I understand their need to keep up with the times and get the younger kids in the park and keep their attention. It's a shame they couldn't keep the old and just build new. So i'm not sure its just people in their 50's who miss the rides. Love the old, but also like the new.:D

41 here and I too miss the old Horizons and World of Motion rides in Epcot but I do like Fast Track almost as much and I'm sure I'll like Mission:Space also. I just wish Epcot could put in new rides, shows WITHOUT closing others.

I'm only 19 but I have been to DisneyWorld about 17 times. I miss all the favs too. My fav attraction is CoP, but luckily it's usually open when we go down for spring break. I wish they'd bring them back, I miss them too

I'll be 69 in Oct and I miss all the great missing things at Epcot. I am not a great thrill rider and I hope that they dont make Epcot into another Cedar Point.

I'm your age and I especially miss World of Motion and Horizons. If they ever change the Jungle Cruise , I'll really put up a stink.

My DIS ID tells my age...

I miss the old favorites, but I don't mind new things. Change can be good for keeping us young.

I do object, however, to taking out the old favorites and replacing all of them with thrill rides. I had a back injury as a teen, and can't ride them. It has nothing to do with my age! I would love to see some new family-oriented attractions, whether they're rides in MK or other parks, or attractions of some kind at Epcot (my favorite park), but the emphasis on adding only bone-shaking thrill rides is out-of-place in an entertainment venue which is supposed to appeal to ALL ages.

Simba,
Like you, CoP is also one of my 15 yr old's favorite attractions. She first saw it as a 10 y.o. and has been very disappointed that it has not been open during her other 2 trips. It's also a favorite of mine. I'd be very sad to see it go. I also miss the Lion King show in Fantasyland. I loved that one!

Im 31 and miss COP. I did just see it less than 2 years ago, but I wish it was still open year round. Hoping to catch it on our Dec trip though.

I'm almost 55. I think I miss the older "gone" attractions because they remind me of my younger years and the people I shared those rides with. I want things to remain the same, of course they can't. Time marches on. But I feel bad that so many rides I loved won't be shared by the coming generations. I go on the new rides, I ride the thrill rides but there will always be a place in my heart for those I "grew up" with.

I'm missin' them all, but I really, REALLY miss DreamFlight and Horizons.

Well, I'm 37 and have only been to WDW 3x but to Disneyland many times. I actually miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. It was so cheesy but it brings back memories of me and my grandmother riding it for the first time when I was 9. I really liked Horizons for the pure relaxation.

I have part of both the rides on video and am glad that we took the time to film them.

I do love the thrill rides though and am looking forward to Mission:Space, Test Track, and Rock'N Rollercoaster - all of which were not there when I last visited.

I am 47 and I used to have more problems with them changing things than I do now AS LONG AS what they change to is a high quality well themed Disney style attraction. I do feel they are going a bit heavy on thrill rides and less on visual spectaculars.
I also have only been going to WDW since 1996 so I ddon;t have the nostalgia built up that I do for Disneyland. Still Disneyland has been having Tomorrowland trouble for a while and now that it is a wasteland I would not have a problem with them scraping the slate clean ( including the monorail and Space mountain) and starting from scratch.
It is just this strange feeling that Disney is favoring thrills at this time that bother me. Maybe the next wave will be spectacular dark rides!!!

I'm 31 and I love the dark rides. My favorites are POC, Peter Pan, Haunted mansion. But I also love Test Track and Dinosaur. I won't ride Splash or Space Mountain. DH thinks I'm a wimp but I was nervous about riding Goofy's Barnstormer. I hate the rumor that they are going to change Spaceship Earth:(
DH is 33 and loves the thrill rides (but can't do teacups).
I wish they would not take away any more of the dark rides.

You make a really good point, why not keep the old and just add new stuff. They seem to have enough room. One of the reasons that I keep hearing is that these older attractions did not have a lot of attendance which is the reason they tore them down. I suppose there were not enough of us going to these attractions to keep them open. It was relly nice though, not waiting on those ridiculous lines you have to sometime wait on to get on one of these new things. I guess Disney uses the length of the lines to gauge if an attraction is popular. :(

Like a lot of the other dis'ers I am 43 and miss the oldie but goodies too! My favorite is Journey into Imagination at Epcot..I was realy afraid that they would take that one out but they just re-did it! yay! I'm not big on thrill rides either but the kids are all looking forward to them!

Well i'm 49 and the ride that sticks out in my mind was , I believe Captain Nemo? I don't know why I remember that from my first trip but I do. Susan

I'm 38 and I really miss the old attractions. Heck, I even miss 20K Leagues!;) My first trip was as a first grader in 1972, and I've been going back as often as I can ever since then. What I miss most of all, is the genuine enthusiasm the CM's once had for the place. You knew you were in WDW because the people who worked there were NOTHING like the people who work in Wal-Mart. Not saying there aren't still good CM's, but you get the feeling that not everyone is happy to be working there.

Oh, and please forgive me for saying I loved "If You Had Wings" and even "Dreamflight" way better than Buzz.;)
