How often is new AKV inventory released to Member Services?

Does anyone know?

I heard that as soon as the rooms are complete they release them for immediate bookings. Is this true?

We are on the wait list for an upcoming vacation, and I was wondering what my chances are.

The rooms added to Member inventory is dependent on two factors - completion of the additional villas and sales. The inventory has normally preceeded the sales pace - since the inventory must be officially declared into the Member inventory before it can be sold.

I'm not enough familiar with the status of the villas being rehabbed at Jambo House to have a feel for the likelyhood that additional inventory will be come available by a certain date, but there is always hope. At this point, AKV is different than SSR in that an entire building needed to be completed before any of the "units" could be declared into inventory and differed from BCV, VWL and BWV in that the entire resort had to be completed before any units could be declared. OKW was similar to SSR in that the buildings were completed in phases. The Jambo villas are individually being completed unlike Kidani which will likely have to wait until the entire structure is far enough along to declare any units into inventory.

LisaS has been posting a map of AKV, indicating units that have been declared into inventory. It appears that nearly half of Jambo house has been declared so far.

According to the Orange County website, units have been declared every month since they started, except for June. The most recent units declared were on documents dated July 10th, and then some more on August 9th.

As Doc said, it depends on both construction and sales. They won't declare units into inventory until it is needed for sales. For example, building 18 at SSR has been completed for some time, but has not been declared into inventory yet. Building 17 is currently being sold and has been declared into inventory.

On documents dated Sept 5, they declared 6 more units of AKV, which, if I counted correctly, consist of 12 2-br's.

Some of these are on the left side of the lobby (when viewing the building from the main entrance). I believe all previous units were on the right side.
