How often does your flight get changed?

My flight times have changed and I'm leaving a couple hours later than I had booked and coming home an hour or so later. I've never had this happen before so I'm wondering if I was just lucky before. In the past I booked through a travel agent and this time went through Disney. I had to pay for the flight up front which confuses me even more of why they can change my times. Now, my ADR for fantasmic might not work. Has anyone had this happen? Is there anything I can do?
Thanks,
Lucy

Our flight has changed 4 times since I booked. The last time we ended up with a 5 hour layover, I called the airline regarding that, and they changed our flight so we only had an hour, they were great about working with me. I would just call them and see what they can do for you.

From what I have read changes are not uncommon. I would check just before departure and again before you leave WDW.

I bought our tickets for our upcoming Dec/January trip in Early March and some aspect of our itinerary has changed 4 times. Only one change was over 1/2 hour and I called the airline and was actually able to get a better flight that leaves MCO later with a shorter layover than what I had originally booked as it was more expensive.

I have yet to book a flight that hasn't changed at least once. Well, with the exception of the flight I booked 6 days before we traveled. That is the only one that didn't change!!! Even my dh's flight with JetBlue changed and I didn't think they ever changed their flights.
I tend to book very early.....9-10 months out. I booked my Oct flights back in Feb...they changed the week after I booked!!! Then changed about 5 more times. I'm hoping they stay where they are now.
If the airlines changed your flights, you could give them a call, and see if there is a more convenient flight they can put you on. Sometimes you will get charged a change fee, but if there is enough of a time change with your original flight you may not get charged.
These changes are the reason I check my flights every single day...I would much rather stay on top of them.

Mine have changed 5 times. The last two were by 4 minutes each. The second time they changed, we had a 5 1/2 hour layover. I called and said that was unacceptable and they changed me to earlier in the day at no cost.

This past winter we were flying on American Airlines. (not to Disney, but the caribbean) They never notified us of the change. My husband is an air traffic controller at the airport and noticed our flight was leaving a little later consistently every day... I looked up online and saw that our seats we had were now showing "available" so I called AA. Come to find out they had a schedule change (only :10 minutes), but the computer automatically threw out the reservations. They reassigned us to a flight that was leaving a day earlier with a 16hr layover in Miami. (all instead of putting us on the flight that left :10min later). I called and they put us on that flight.

Can you imagine showing up to your flight only to find out they reassigned you to leave the day before??? and never contacted you?? :sad2:

I check flights constantly now!!!

I booked our flight in Jan for November and it has changed 12 times. Most of the changes were 10 min or less but that can really add up. I called Spirit and they said that if their flight times change by more than 15 min that they would change the flight for free to any flight that day or even the day before or the day after. They said that you have to call within a few days of the change. I was never notified of the change but saw it online and I had to fight for them to change it. Over 1 hour later I finally have a flight leaving earlier in the day

It mostly has to do with when you book. If you book 6-11 months prior to your flight, it is very common to encounter schedule changes. If you book later than that, you should encounter a lot fewer schedule changes.

Thats why I love SW with them not posting dates until later in travel they don't really change that much.

I think I had one change due to Katrina and it was only like 15min difference. They offered me to book on the earlier or later flight at that time as well.

You can get that same "Southwest effect" with other airlines if you just resist booking other airlines until later. :)
