How often does your family go to WDW?

I have not been to Disney since getting married and having kids. My boys are currently 5, 4, 2, and 5 months. I am planning our first trip for next January. I hope to go at least once every 5 years.

Our first trip was 2006. It was a struggle to get the money to go. Our kids were 4 and 9 at the time.

While there we realized how much fun and wonderful a trip to Disney World is and wondered why we never took our 9 year old when he was younger before his sister came along.

We had to skip 2007 for financial reasons.

Went back in 2008 and 2009.

2010 we became DVC members went twice that year and twice in 2011.

Surgeries and family issues had to skip 2012

Returned in 2013 and will be returning 2014.

Plan to skip 2015, dipped and borrowed too many DVC points and I want to stay in a 1 bedroom and Grand Floridian Villas for a week so I need to save points for 2016 trip.

We may go on a Disney Cruise or pay to go to DLR in 2015 but I sincerely doubt it. We will more than likely save for a blow out trip in 2016 at VGF.

.

Been sporadic... Use to be every few years, but we are going again this year. Buying a season pass so we will go more this year and next year. I feel so happy when I am there. ;)

sorry, its a sickness.

:lmao:

recent........... it was four trips from may 2013 to December 2013.

We've gone 3 times in the last 2 years. And for me that timeframe has been perfect. But getting to Disney from here is not exactly easy or cheap, and DW always need a bit convincing before I can book another trip.

It will be 15 months between our last trip and out next trip. I think the timeframe is perfect for DW, but 6 months too long for me. :sad1:

On the bright side the 7D mine train will be finished, and a lot of the tech issues with my disney exp. and fP+ should be iron out by then.

We usually go 1-2 times a year. Last year I managed to go 4 times in 15 months. That is highly unusual. We went down for 2 marathons, Disney Cruise, and a birthday surprise. I am headed down in a few weeks for the Princess half marathon without kids. WOO HOO!!! Now that the girls are in middle school, we will only go down once every 2 years with kids.

I hope to go annually. We went for the first time as a family in late May/early June 2011 when our youngest was 2.5. We returned once in 2012, twice in 2013, and are planning a late June/early July trip for this summer. Our 2 trips last year were within 2.5 months of each other. DD5 thinks it has been "forever" since we have been.

We've been to WDW twice as a family and both of those trips were within a two year timeframe (Aug 2011 and May 2013). I like the thought of going every other year as it keeps things both fresh and familiar; and since WDW is a rather pricey vacation for our family we want our kids to view and appreciate Disney as a big, special trip. We are hoping to continue our every other year trend and go back in 2015, preferably May again; but we may have to push that trip back to the end of 2015 (Nov or Dec) or even early 2016 depending on how circumstances work out. We may also have extended family join us on our next trip and we want everyone to have a reasonable amount of time to save money for the trip - we'll see :).

We've been going once a month since we bought our Florida resident passes in October. We will probably stop during the summer though because it will be way too hot for me to stand it.

We've drank too much of the WDW koolaid!

We both went as children years ago, then went with DS for the first time in 2003. We went back in 2007 after DD turned 3... then it started...
Cruise and WDW in 2008
Spring break and summer in 2009
Spring break and summer in 2010, then bought DVC and went in Nov 2010 too
Since then we've gone about 3 times/yr (March, summer, Nov or Dec)

DS will be headed to HS next year. I'm worried about the fall trip continuing, but you can bet I'll do my best to work it in! ;)

We just love it and have so much fun there! I'm so ready to head back!

Every 3 - 4 years for us.

Although I would opt for every year.. the cost is prohibitive due to our family size (that is not a complaint :goodvibes).

Also, we like to mix it up and do other things in the non-Disney years (beach, hiking, etc)

Although, I still start planning as soon as we get back from our trips!

Our (well, H's) original paln was to do a week long trip every 2 years, while taking other vacations between Disney trips. We always vacation in Nov because we live in New Jersey and "Jersey Week" IS a real thing :rotfl:Not everyone does Disney, but almost every family we know goes SOMEWHERE during that week.

So, we did Disney in Nov 2012, then Beaches Negril Nov 2013, and the plan was Disney Nov 2014. Turns out we love all inclusives in the Caribbean just as much as Disney:thumbsup2 so we booked a bounce back type deal at Beaches for Nov 2014 (it was too good to pass up!), which pushes our next big Disney trip back to 2015.

To make up for it we took a 4 day trip last month, and H said we can take another 4 day next December. We LOVE Disney in December. The crowds, weather & MVMCP make Disney ever MORE magical!

It looks like Disney will be a yearly trip for us, but most years the trip will be short, and our long stays will be 3 years apart. The short trips satisfy my Disney itch and give me a lot to look forward to on our longer visits.

How often do you go to Disney? We go every 2-4 years, but not planning on making it any more then a 2.5-3 year gap between our trips for now on. We are a large family(2 adults 5 kids) so it gets pricy.....that is why we are looking into buying DVC with enough points to go every other year.

We have gone every year (one year twice due to a sports tourney). We have a family of 4 which fits nicely into a Disney plan. I can't imagine we would go annually with a family of 7. We have friends with 5 children that go every year, but have DVC and use points every other year so only pay for resort once every two years. They drive down because airfare would be too expensive.

Before I was married and my parents paid I think we went every 1-2 years. I met dh and we went every 2-3 yrs, after our 3rd and final kid in 2006, we are now on a 4-5 year span between trips. Yes it kills me but I am ok with it.

We went in 2008 and as we were pulling out on DME my dh turned to me and said 4 yrs vs the 3. Of course the look of horror came from me but then I got smart and said ok I will just add a day.

I ended up adding 2 days since we had a 5 year span. So we went for 10 days.

I have no plans or go to Disney until 2017-2018. I am ok with that. Most likely we will stop in post auto train in April for lunch at DtD or the poly but it will be 3 hours max.

I need to start saving...

Since our first trip to DL in 2010 we have averaged every year, except last year, when we did a Disney cruise instead. This year we are going back to DL and next year we are going on another cruise. I like the idea of parks one year, cruise the next. My husband LOVED the cruise as did my older two kids. I am the only one who really prefers the parks over the cruise. We would like to start taking the kids more places now that they are older. Alaska, Europe, so I do think DL/WDW will become an every other year trip. (Although I have a really hard time not going every year!!! It is my happy place.)

This will be our first trip. We plan on going back again in about 5 years. I'm more of an all-inclusive relaxing beach vacation kind of person ;) We have 4 kids and are only taking our older two this time and will take all 4 in 5 years when our little ones are old enough to enjoy it (and remember it) more.

Every 2-3 years or so. The price of going to WDW is one thing, but getting there (we have to fly, and a family of 4) costs nearly as much as a week long package staying on property, tickets, and dining plan. :scared:

We've been going once a month since we bought our Florida resident passes in October. We will probably stop during the summer though because it will be way too hot for me to stand it.

wait.... all do respect....... you don't count!!!!!! :lmao:

once a month!!!! :sad2:

CONGRATS!!!!! (im just jealous!!!) :thumbsup2

Have been every year since DS was 18 months old (He'll be 8 this year) except the year I was pregnant with his little brother. I love Disney but I have my limits =)

annually...

Well, until this FP+ nonsense started. This trip in March - resort only - will likely be our last for a long time. I just needed to escape the cold for a bit. Universal will likely get our money from here on out :)
