How often does the fireworks get rained out in August at MK ? I would be very disappointed if it got rained out with a reservation for the dessert party.
I know it rains a lot in August and just wondered.

Statistically, nearly zero times.

Wishes is not cancelled for rain.

It can very, very occasionally be cancelled for something severe... like a hurricane blow-by.

We have been there in August many, many times and Wishes has never been cancelled. We were at Epcot once during tropical storm Fay one year and they cancelled Illuminations because it was too windy. Fantasmic at HS will be cancelled if there is rain and/or lightening.

It can be delayed. We were there in a big storm- power was out in parts of MK and Tomorrowland was flooded. The first MSEP was cancelled. Wishes was 45 min. late. The Dessert party was a great place to be, IMO, while waiting for Wishes. They let us stay there, and keep eating/drinking- staying dry.

It is very common for Tink not to fly in August. She does not fly if there is the slightest weather issue. We have been to the dessert party six times, and she has flown only two of them.

Thanks for the info, yes it would be good to be at the dessert party during storms :thumbsup2 That is to bad about Tink though.

Rarely. They won't cancel the fireworks for anything less than a severe storm. Tinkerbell can't fly in any kind of high winds or rain though.

I heard that once the fireworks are loaded in their tubes, they have to be fired. There is no method for unloading the tubes. I believe that the tubes are loaded pretty early in the day.

Once we watched Wishes in light rain and very low cloud cover. It was pretty surreal. We never saw a single shell. They'd just disappear into the bottom of the cloud layer and when they exploded it just turned the cloud colors. It was like watching technicolor internal lightning!
