how often do you wash your towels? ;)

I have a little rotating thing.

I use two towels -- one for my body and one for my hair. The one I use on my body goes right in my hamper and the hair towel gets rotated into the body towel for the next day.

Silly, but it works for me!

I do the exact same thing!

We use a towel once and then it goes in the hamper.

Usually every other day, in between they are hung outside to dry or dried over the shower!
Been doing this forever!

No bugs here. :rolleyes2

9 more days for 2 weeks
I just put on my mail hold!!!!!
excited.........nah, and this is my 23rd trip! :cool1: :moped:

Oh for pete's sake. I wash my towels about once or twice a week. Right away if they get extra dirty or come in contact with something inappropriate. If people want their towels washed more often, that's great. But scare articles like this one annoy the crap out of me...

"The towels are loaded with bacteria"

Well, duh! Outside the clean-room down at your local computer chip manufacturing plant, or hospital operating room, everything is covered in bacteria. You want to make the world a healthier place, convince people to do a *real* hand washing and stop putting random stuff in their mouths. Scaring them into washing and disinfecting every single thing all the time is not the answer.

If someone in our household has a cold the hand towels might get washed more often and I keep paper towels in the powder room so they can be used if someone is sick (per daycare regulations--I have a home daycare license and am required to have the paper towels, but now I keep them out year round, even when I don't have daycare children).

.

I have paper towels in the bathroom to dry your hands on...I hate that commmunity towel thing in the bathrrom even for drying your hands after they are washed...too yukky for me! When we have company I put out the nice seasonal paper hand towels for them to use, otherwise its paper all the way! I wash my bath towels after every use.

I wash them only once a week and frankly could care less what any study says. We are a family of 5. Each of us use our own towels. Even my 2 year old knows which one is for him only :)

I am so with you on this one! With five of us do you know how many towels we would go through in a week if we changed everyday? The girls use 2 per shower! One beach and one regular towel.

Kitchen towels and hand towels do get changed a bit more than the bath towels though...only because they get yucky pretty fast.

We wash our towels after every use. Hand towels are changed at least once a week but often times sooner than that.

We each have our own towel, never share, and they are never on the bathroom floor. And I am very picky on how they get hung up to dry so that they really do dry.
Yep, same here.

I wash them after every use!

Vindication! Now when my DW gets all over me for leaving my towel spread out on the bed, or over the side of the bathtub, instead of hanging it on the hook, I can tell her I am simply trying to dry it out to prevent germ growth. Unfortunately, though, based on that article it appears that I can't leave it on the floor to dry. Ah well. Marriage is a series of compromises . . .

Every towel I have has 4 matching washcloths. So I use a towel 4 times, washcloth once. I also have a separate towel that I use to dry my face at night - it gets used about 2 weeks.

DS (14 months old) gets a fresh towel with each bath

DH - I have no idea how many times he uses a towel. I wash his towels whenever he runs out of washcloths.

My towels are all bright colors - purple, blue, gold. DH's are all beige. So his towels and mine get washed in separate loads.

I change out the towles once a week. But they never sit wet on the floor, they get hung up after being used. I guess I have nice towels, they always feel soft - even after a few uses.

once a week, ad I use a separate towel to dry my hair. Everyone n the family has their own towel and washcloth.

Neither my DH or myself are spermatophobics and feel that washing the towels once a week is quite enough.

Did you REALLY mean to use this word??? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl2: I didn't know that is what we were discussing. I am seriously here cackling out loud over the use of that word. But I'm with you, if we dealt with more sperm I'd wash my towels more often, too. ;) :teeth:

I change out the towels after every third use. We hang them to dry and never share. We have huge bath sheets--four of them constitutes an entire load of laundry. I would go insane if I had to do laundry every day. It is the Most Hated Chore, even more hated than the Terrible Toilet Scrub.

There was a thread like this a while back.

I always toss each towel & washcloth into the hamper after its first use.
I saw a show years ago about all of the germs that breed on damp towels. :crazy2:

**Edited to add: This is really DaisyDuck123...somehow I am signed on as my DD11, Cinderella94.

In the wash with bleach after every use is what's done in my home.

Gosh. I can't believe how many of you wash your towels after every use!

We go at least a week before the bath towels are changed. They get hung up (spread out so they don't get mildewy) after every use and we each have our own. I have a hair towel and a bath towel, and DH just has a bath towel. The wash cloths get changed more often though.

Growing up my Mom washed the towels after every use. She was always doing laundry and the towels were always falling apart!
