My hair looks awful if I dont wash it everyday. BUT it is getting over flat ironed/blow dry etc etc. I have always dreamed of being a wash and go girl, but it just isnt in the cards for me. My hair is not straight, but not curly, it is just frizzy if I dont do anything to it. My plan- french braids for a few weeks, no heat, just to see if it improves at all.

ANd just for the record, I tried the "dry shampoo" that my hair dresser suggested for days I skip a wash, and it was AWFUL. It was like spraying powder into my hair I followed all the instructions and my hair looked worse after.

My hair is colored and rather dry. I wash it twice a week, and the other mornings I just rinse it in the shower then use conditioner on it and style as though it was a shampoo day. It stays nice and shiny this way.:thumbsup2

Every day, but I don't have to do anything to it besides wash it. I have STICK straight hair and I gave up trying to make it into something it isn't a LONG time ago.

Every other day I shampoo. I condition every other time I wash. On the non-shampoo days I dampen it in the shower.

I wash 3 times a week. ONLY because if I wash it more, my hair gets unmanageable, dry and unhealthy. My mom washes hers every day, sometimes twice a day- which to me, I can't imagine that. Then, she complains about her hair being too dry!?!?! funny!

I usually wash my hair everyother day. I also have to have a shower in the morning. If I sleep in wet hair it ends up just as worse then it was before I washed it.

I have to wash it every day, or at least every 1.5 days. If not, I am a total grease ball.

That'd be me, too.

I used to hate my hair, and had perms all through my teen years :scared:. Now I enjoy being able to wash it and go (well, I have to comb it out, but that's it).

I have the same hair. I have to wash it EVERY day or it feels gross & greasy.

When it gets dirty.

Usually every other day. Sometimes I can do a third day but not if I'm working that day.
I started to be able to go every other day instead of every day once I hit 40. :)

I was and condition daily. Sometimes I will skip a day if I am having a lazy, stay home, clean house then veg day. I feel icky if I dont' wash it often.

This is me too. :thumbsup2 I can do it every other day, sometimes a third if I'm not working that day. I've been doing this since my 20's.

Every day, short hair, gets limp if I don't. My sister technically never washes her hair. She has super thick, curly hair and only uses conditioner on her hair.

About 3 times a week!

Every day.

To me, the secrets to having great hair are

1) a great stylist and

2) a great shampoo and conditioner

I'm fortunate to have found a really great stylist many years ago. I've held onto her like GOLD, lol (and tip her well). I keep my hair relatively short but well styled. If it gets even 1/2" overgrown, it looks flat, as it's really heavy, thick hair.

I've found finding a great shampoo and conditioner isn't so easy. I've wasted a ton of money over the years trying different shampoos hoping they'll be good. No luck. Most of them make my hair feel dry. My favorite, that I've been using for years, is The Body Shops line (currently the Olive Oil Glossing shampoo and conditioner); they change from time to time, but they're all good. They are expensive, but worth it. (You only need a tiny bit so one bottle might last me 6 months or longer.)

My newest dilemma: my 12yo daughter has the same hair I do but wears it shoulder length. She's had the same issue of dryness and brittleness with anything but my Body Shops shampoo. But being a 12 yr old, despite my instructions to only use a dab, she uses a ton :faint: (and I'm nearly killing myself in the shower with conditioner all over the tub :rotfl2: ). So recently I decided I'd try something similar but different for both of us to use, ie cheaper. I wound up buying Regis Salon's Olive Oil shampoo and conditioner - two big bottles. And guess what? I can tell the difference. It's "ok" but not as good as my Body Shop's - my hair feels dry and I hate it. I'm thinking when these are gone, I'm going back. I'll just have to ration it out to DD, lol.

So to anyone who's experiencing dry hair, give these a try. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 And remember, if you're not happy with the way your hair looks, be sure you're having it cut regularly by a really good stylist - it can make a huge difference.

I generally wash my hair every other day. It sits just above my shoulders and gets too dry and frizzy if I wash it every day. I use a sulfate free shampoo, too, which I finds keeps my color much longer.

I wash mine every other day. I don't color or use hairspray/hair product or styling implements other than a blow dryer. I towel dry until it's only damp and then I only blow dry until it's about half dry. I've been doing this since high school (jr high I had the spiral perm that was popular for a few years).

My hair has held up pretty well (I'm 34), I just have to have split ends trimed off 2x a year and I'm good (I'm trying to see how long I can grow my hair out!).

ETA: I use Burts Bees shampoo/conditioner. Love it! It's pricey but since I don't use it every day, a bottle lasts me a good two months.
