How often do you Hear from your Adult children?

I have two daughters, early 30's and both within a 30 minute trip, but I hear from them daily...the good, the bad and all the drama too.:goodvibes

We have 3 adult sons, oldest is 34; youngest is 29. The oldest went to Los Angeles for college and stayed there so he's been out of the house for 16 years now. I chat with his wife every other day or so but we don't talk to him as often. The middle son and his wife/son and the youngest son live closer and we talk to them once a week.

DS#1 is 26 and in grad school about an hour away. We usually hear from him a couple of times a month.

DD#1 is 22 and in school in NC (we're in NH). We hear from her a couple of times a week.

DD#2 and DS#2 both still are at home.

I am 30, live 5 minutes away from my parents, and talk to them usually once a day. My DH(40) calls his mom a few times a month, she lives out of state. I try and get him to call her more but they are not as close as I am to my parents.

I only have minor children, but my husband and I have parents. :) We talk to each, each day, though it's usually them calling us. Sometimes more than once a day - ok, often more than once a day.

Every once in a while my mom doesn't call me for a few days and then I call her. I don't think I would let it go more than 4 days or so. My husband never gets that chance with his mom. :)

Im 44, my sisters are 43 and 31..We live close to each other. We talk to our mom everyday, at the least, every other day. I think its a hispanic girl thing, by husband doesnt get it LOL!

We live about 1.5 hours from my parents. I call them twice a week and my grandmother once.

We live 2 hours from DH's dad and about 30 minutes from his mom/aunts/grandmother. We talk to them when they contact us, and generally that means they contact me, because they know DH won't respond with any sort of rapidity. So, every few months or so.

I figure the phone works both ways, and I am not a big phone person so I call when I have something to say. I don't really call just because. Mostly birthdays and holidays anymore. I used to make an effort to call weekly or biweekly, but I grew tired of being the only one making an effort, so I stopped making the weekly/biweekly calls about a year ago. After about 9 years of marriage, it gets old after a while being the only one who can figure out how to dial a number. But, there are tons of holidays so with Mother's Day/Father's Day/4th of July/etc I do still call every other month or so.

I talk to my mom at least every other day or so. I usually call her on my drive to work or on the way home. I talk to my now adult DD every day while she is away at college. It's funny because she's gotten so used to me calling on my way home from work that if I don't call her, she will call me in a panic wondering what's wrong. :rotfl:

I'm 30 and live about 10 miles away from my parents. I talk to them probably 5 out of 7 days. If we go more than 2 or 3 days without talking, it is very unusual. We usually see each other once a week. Yesterday was my Dad's birthday, so my DH and I went over there for dinner and ice cream cake. My mom likes to have us over for Sunday dinners too.

My DH talks to his parents less often. They live about 30 minutes away, but he does go over there every 2 or 3 weeks to mow their grass. I never go over there. His dad is pretty social, but his mom is NOT.

I call my inlaws at LEAST once a week, every Sunday..They in NJ, we in FL. I dont speak to my own mother(havent for 8yrs now). DH actually speaks to his parents once a month..LOL, he usually isnt home for the Sunday call, so I field it..and its usually to my FIL, my MIL is not big phone user...like her son..

I'm 25. I talk to my Mom at least every other day, most of the time it's about once a day. I talk to my Dad once/week.

My boyfriend is also 25. He talks to his parents about every other week.

My daughter is 23 and married. She usually calls every day (might skip a day now and then). Sometimes I call her, just depends on what's going on.

I usually call my mother every day or couple of days. DH usually calls his mother every 2 or 3 days or so.

I talk to my mom every single day, sometimes more than once. DH talks to his parents about once a week. :thumbsup2

We're in our late 40s. Neither of us really likes talking on the phone. We talk to our parents about once a week to catch up.

DH talks to his mom daily, she is 81 and lives next door.

I talk to my parents once or twice on the phone for a very brief time (I am not a phone talker and my folks aren't offended), but we spend almost every Sunday afternoon at their house and lately they have been keeping DS one morning a week while I go to school. In the fall, DS will ride the bus to their house twice a week and we will still go on Sunday. So, I guess a lot, just not on the phone. LOL

My DSis lives a couple of hours away and they usually come down every other Sunday. Sis calls more frequently than I do. She is definitely a phone talker! LOL She used to call daily, now more like every 2 or 3 days.

I talk to my mom about once a week, sometimes more often. She lives about a half hour away. I haven't talked to my dad in months, but my parents are married.

I talk to my grandpa at least once a week too.

We see the IL's at least once a week, usually more often. We talk to one of them just about every day.

I'm 30 and when my mom was alive we talked at least once a day, whether she or I called.

When my mom was alive we talked just about every day and I would talk to my dad when I stopped by there to visit - 1x a week or so. Now that my mom is gone I call my dad 1x a week and see him usually 1x a week to make sure he is ok and has everything he needs. Now as far as my in-laws go - i don't just call them to chat. I call usually for something very quick and specific and that is probably not even 1x a month and they only call for very quick and specific things as well. I see them maybe 1x a month if that. My dh talks to them probably 1-2x a week and sees them probably 1x a week.
