How Often Do You Have Friends For Dinner?

We have one couple who we invite round quite often maybe once a month. We tend to cook mexican (fajitas), chinese, curry or bbq (in summer) if we order in it is pizza or chinese. Also we tend to go out with them ever other month or so to a local restaurant. As they live at home at the moment with her parents they don;t invite us over but once they finish renovating their house they said they will invite us round and we can then alternate who entertains.

There is a friend who helps DH alot with his car and I often cook when he is round, such as todat and it will be curry. Also we go out with him and a female friend about 2 or 3 times a year for dinner.

DMIL often comes round maybe once or twice a month and I cook for her, often it is a roast dinner but it can be anything else we can think of, or a chinese take away

I love dinner parties! But seems like I'm the only one that has them!

I have people over a couple of times a month and have a blast planning the table, the drinks, the music, and the menu.

People call us and ask if we want to go out mostly. I don't care, if they don't like to entertain that's OK. But I love it!

Never! I would much rather meet at a restaurant. When friends come over, it's usually for drinks before we go out to eat or to an event.

I'm trying to talk DH into having a beginner's jam (DH's main hobby is playing bluegrass music) once a month or so, though--I would like to have people over more often but not with the pressure of cooking a meal.

I think it was maybe once in the past ten years. We did have some family Thanksgiving meals at our house a few times. BTW this is the second thread today where I can brag about my anti-social skills. I have become quite the recluse.

I love hosting parties for any reason, but I have been so busy with school, selling on ebay and daycare, plus volunteering that I haven't had much time.

I hope to be better about it now... you all have inspired me.
