How often do you go to Disney?

When our kids were young, it was every 3-4 years because that is all we could afford. We have been going every year since the youngest two were in high school. Now we usually go alone and are loving it. How you plan and tour, what you do and how you do it changes as your life changes. It really is like a totally new vacation now compared to 20 years ago! We are having our first grandchildren in the next few months, so I think we are in for yet another change!

We've gone once a year since 2011, which was just a quick day trip to MK and have stayed onsite since then. Not a lot, and I was there once when I was like 12, so 25 years ago. The worst part of the trips last year and this year is the uncertainty. I remember thinking I'd have to worry about FP+ last year, and this year, who knows what's going to happen between now and then? I was hoping the system would be fully implemented before we went so we'd at least know what we had to work with, and it may still happen that way, but who knows? I'll make it work however, we always go at a crowded time because my husband is a teacher, and we'll have fun.

We are not planning to go back anytime soon after our next trip, but that has more to do with not taking the kids out of school (spring breaks don't match up) and wanting to go other places that maybe don't cost as much, not the changes at Disney.

I'm just curious as to how often all the posters who are complaining about 'changes' at Disney, actually go? I see some posts from people planning their first trip but are confused because of all the different posts pro/con of the changes. Then other posts are from the 'once a year' group talking about the good ole days. We average four, five or even six trips a year since we discovered WDW in 2008. Cannot think of a bad trip yet. We always find something new (to us) every trip. We get to the park early & stay late most days. Fastpass has never been much of an issue to us and we've still been able to ride what we love without much wait. We use one or two at each park at the most. Lots of times we have given our fastpasses away if we left the park before the appointed time. Just wondering how many of the disenchanted go several times a year? The Disney KoolAid comes in different flavors & I want to try them all, lol.

As you have said, The Disney Koolaid comes in different flavors & WE want to try them all!

I am NOT one of the ones that has been complaining about all the changes.

I am reserving judgment until I have had a chance to try it out.

Anyway, We have been to Disney 8 times since 2006 and bought into DVC in 2010. We have a 9th trip planned for Spring Break 2014.

We will continue to go and still love it.

:)

We live in Kentucky but we go 1-3 times a year (depending on the year). We don't use FP a ton so being limited to 3 FP+ per day won't make or break our day, in fact it might improve it if I don't have to drag my kids across the park just to grab a FP.

The last couple years we went about 3 times a year

The next couple of years will be less since we're having twins/ then it'll be back up to 3 times a year!

Between 2002 and 2012 we averaged once every two years. Although we don't plan on going again until at least 2015, if not later.

Once every two to three years. DH would prefer less, so it's important to me that the trips are enjoyable for the entire family, not just the Disney-crazy mom. :)

We have limited time and budget, live a two-day drive (or expensive flight) away, and have many other types of vacations we enjoy, like hiking/camping in the wilderness and budget cruises to new countries.

My dream is to spend every winter near Disney when I'm retired, as long as I'm still feeling the magic. pixiedust: DH will keep busy golfing.

We like to visit twice a year......September and May....won't go for anything less than 6 nights....must stay on property....

We just did an October trip, Magic Bands and all, worked great ...we're not dining plan or huge ADR people....not fast pass holders either....all went well and after 50 trips, we have no complaints...

We usually go once a year for the F&W Festival/MNSSHP but there have been a few years when another trip popped up. The most we've ever been is 20 days in a year (split between 2 trips).

We don't qualify because we think the changes are going in a positive direction. But, we go 3 or 4 times a year.

I used to go 2 times a year and now 1 time a year. Our kids are older now so our vacations are different. We do very few park days and just relax at a deluxe resort.

We've gone at least once a year since 2001. A few years twice, last year we hit Disneyland and WDW.

The kids getting older is making it harder schedule the times.

We used to go twice a year or once to WDW/and a Disney Cruise.

Now that we have a child, we go once a year.

This will probably be our last trip for a couple years, though - we need to save money and want to have a 2nd child, possibly move, etc.

I told DH that for our next trip I want to stay in a 2 b/r villa at the Polynesian.

I don't really care about the fastpass+ drama - we usually go at slower times of year and might use 1 fastpass the whole week.

I don't know why people are griping when they are going in like late Jan. and probably the only two rides with over a 15 min wait will be soarin & TSM which they can get fastpass for... I could understand the frustration I guess if you are going at Christmas but I doubt that's when most disboarders go.

When I started going with my parents at age 12, we went every couple of years. Then DH and I honeymooned there and fell in love. We planned a big Christmas trip in 2009 that was supposed to be it until we had kids and they were holder. HA! We have been once a year since then with 2 Disneyland trips sprinkled in. Next year we are taking a break because we have a big trip to Italy planned that is going to be a big hit to the pocketbook. We will be back in 2015 sometime, and I imagine we will continue going once a year until we are tired of it. Which may be NEVER for me!

We only go every 2-4 years and I loved the Magic-bands/Fastpass+ system.

Always annually at the very least. Many times twice a year. This particular year though we are there 3 times.
D
Honestly we wish we could go more!!
I keep telling my husband that movibg to Celebration is in my 10 year plan.

We have AP and live 1.5 hrs away. We go about 2-6 times a month for the day. And once every quarter we go to stay for a least 3 nights.

I'm not happy about the changes right now... But I'll wait till they roll out fully to make my decision. However, things seemed to run smoothly with paper FP and old key cards in my opinion.

We just renewed our AP for the year. Not much could keep me away from my happy place.

Plus we got married at Disney :)
