How often do you get sick?

Colds, flus, etc.?

It seems that I ALWAYS have a cold. Another one started yesterday and I woke up feeling yuck again this morning. Now I've got that yucky clogged, burning nose and hot eyes; also a burning throat. It's not allergies, I have none.

This past year my answer has to be way too often. In the past I had not gotten sick near as often but something must have changed in my body. Seems like I catch every single bug that is anywhere near my county.

Sorry you have a cold right now. It is terrible to have one in the summer. Good thing you don't have allergies. Maybe I have enough for both of us.

I've got a cold every time I turn around it seems. Most years I get one to two BAD colds. You know, the ones where you're hacking your lungs up and still can't stop coughing. I lucked out and didn't get any of those this year, but the pain from the abcessed tooth, the sinus infection, and the damn allergies more than made up for not having the bad cold. I've had the allergies from you know where this spring and summer. So I've pretty much felt rotten since the beginning of April. And at that point I'd just gotten over the sinus infection.
In other words I'm sick too darn often.

Maybe you have allergies and dont realize it.
There are a million and one things you could have a bad reaction to.
I hope you feel better soon.

Now that I have 3 small kids I am sick off and on all the time with a cold. So are my kids. Actually, I seem to get it worse in the spring/summer and stay relatively healthy in the winter (knock on wood).

I have been blessed with generally good health. I rarely call in sick. Geez, I think I have about 350 (++) hours of sick time accumulated! I pray I never have to use them...........

All the time, but I have a supressed immune system due to a medication I'm on so that makes things much worse.

You never know, it might be allergies. I'd do allergy testing and find out for sure - you'll feel a lot better!

Surprisingly enough I rarely get sick.I get the flu every few years and maybe a cold or two each winter

While things are not always going to be perfect, they are much better.


I'm one of the lucky ones who doesn't get stomach viruses VERY much, but I get colds an awful lot. And I do take vitamins everyday as well

I haven't been really sick since the first month after I gave birth to my last son.....he is almost 3 years old. I have been double lucky b/c my youngest hasn't been sick for atleast 2 years and he is allergic to every antibotic under the sun!!!!!

I usually get one bad sinus infection in the winter, and I usually also get at least one case of pinkeye.

Back around the first week of April I had a wicked stomach virus. It lasted from Thursday through Sunday. It was not pretty. Now it seems like I have some sort of stomach thing going on every few weeks. There was one day last month that I went in to work and ended up leaving after an hour because I was so ill. I felt AWFUL and had a low grade fever. That NEVER happens. I don't know if I keep picking up the same bug over and over, or if I am more susceptible to stomach things since I have had so many lately, or what the deal is.

DH and DS haven't had any trouble at all, so either it's not that contagious or they have much better immune systems that I do!

Same here. Despite having MS, and a goofy immune system, I rarely get sick - ZERO colds/flu this past winter, while DD and DH had a few each. I'm a big hand washer too.

Now I'll probably catch a cold tomorrow.

I haven't had flu in 20+ years(no, I don't get the shot). I usually get a sinus/allergy thing once or twice per year that lasts for about 24 hours. I don't miss much work...maybe 3 or 4 days per year.

Haven't had the flu in 17 years (no shots for me either) and only one cold in the last three years. I'm a big beliver in not taking medicine for every little ailment and I really think that has helped my immunity. I work with someone who constantly pill pops OTC meds and is constantly sick. I only take antibiotics as needed and never anything else. (I'm not an obsessive hand washer either, just wash at appropriate times of course)
