I've only been at this 2 weeks, but I've exercised everyday but one...and sometimes 2 or 3 times a day.

Today's the first day I haven't felt like doing it. Is that OK? or should I push through that and work out anyway?

How often do you all exercise?

I was exercising 6 days a week on the treadmill for 30 min. Thanks to a buddy, she suggested that I bump my time each day up 10 min. and then only walk 5 days a week. I am getting in more time in less days. I don't know how others feel, but if I don't give myself a little break, I tend to get burned out.

You will be fine for taking the day off, I think our bodies need a rest from exercising. Enjoy your exercise free day:D .

I say if your body needs a break....then take one...like JT said. BUT if you are just not exercising because..."you don't feel like it". I would suggest pushing yourself.

I exercise EVERYDAY...the day I take a break is scheduled...either because I know I am going to be super busy...or I just know I need to rest my body. I am afraid to just "not" do it...because it was such a HARD habit to get...but it would be soooo EASY to break....JMHO

I try to exercise every day. I don't do my weight training every day though - I do three days in a row of that, then one day off, then three on, then one off, etc.

During the week I try to get in 4 days of rollerblading and 4 days of power walking, so one day I might just rollerblade and not walk or the other way around. On the weekends it's iffy - depending on what we have planned for the day, I might be able to do weights AND power walk, or just weights.

It's perfectly fine to take a day off from working out! Your body does need to rest. You don't want to overtrain and tax your body too much! :)

I just really got into excersising on a regular basis. I try everyday to fit something in. Today is not going to happen though. I'm on the war path with my kids and their absolutely disasterous bedrooms. My excersise today will be flinging all their junk around until its clean. I'm moving some heavy furniture today too trying to organize their mess. I may be short two kids by the end of the day!!!

Essentially everyday although it seems like every week there are one or 2 days that I just can't for various reasons. Many days I break my exercise into 2 brisk 15-20 minute walks around campus when I just need to get up from my desk and take a break.

I find it works better if I do longer workouts than short 30 minute workouts daily. I do an hour and 10 minutes atleast 5 days a week- I'm trying to push it up to 6 days until I hit goal- but I think the best plan of attack is to do 4 days straight, take a break then do 3 days straight and take a break- I'll keep this up until I hit goal. Some days you just need to sleep in and rest- I've been getting up at 5:30 every morning and this morning I slept soundly until 7:30 and I went to bed at 10:30! So my body really needed the rest.
I don't recommend exercising everyday unless it's 30 minutes or less- your body really needs breaks to reenergize especially if you're losing weight.
Keep it up!!!

if the timing and weather are right I walk the "gerbil track" morning and night

I exercise every day. That way, I am better able to balance my calories on a daily basis, rather than trying to juggle calorie deficits on some days and calorie surplusses on other days. I typically do resistence training three days per week (MWF). Other days I either cycle to/from work (20 mi r/t), do some brisk 3 mi walks, yoga, or in a pinch, treadmill.

I've been exercising 5 days/wk. My days off are scheduled so I'm not just saying I don't feel like doing it. I'm just getting back into the habit of exercising regularly so I don't want to give myself any excuses. It does amaze me how far I've come over the past 6 mo. Yesterday I came out of work & it was raining pretty hard so I ran to my car. I was amazed when I got there to find I wasn't even short of breath. Back in Jan when I first started, walking that far at a slow pace would have had me puffing, sad to say. I have a long way to go, but I have come a long way already!
