How often do you call MS?

I have been calling twice a week, to see if anything has opened up? I make them check BLT and AKL, maybe they have released inventory!

Am I the only one who does this?

Is this frowned upon?

Who else calls weekly?
 
Are you on a waitlist for specific dates?
 
I call to make my reservation. I call if I need to change something.

So I guess I average 1 call per trip, MAYBE 2. I never call to check a waitlist - I just go to the website to check on it.
 
As long as you're calling for legit DVC business you can call as often as you want. With the restrictions on the number of waitlists, I call more often than I did in the past.

I've also been waitlisted for a day, called for something else, happened to check and *gasp* the day I was waitlisted was available, so the waitlist at least in the past wasn't instantly updated.

It didn't seem fair to me that I could be waitlisted for a day I'm the home resort owner at 10 months 29 days and someone else could at the right time call up and take that day at 6 months and swipe that day away.

I am on a WL for specific dates. However, I am slightly paranoid that DVC will declare more rooms and I will miss out! I am on a "practical" WL, hoping that once day at SSR will become available in a 2BR. However, I call occasionally to see if any 2BR at BLT or AKL are declared and I get lucky!
 
With the change in the number of waitlists allowed I have called more frequently to check on other views etc.

I agree completely. I am certain that this happens; in fact, I am pretty sure I must have inadvertently done this to someone else for my upcoming reservation. I posted about it here, how it happened.

Because of this, I am not going to hesitate to call every day in the future when I am waitlisted, instead of just checking online.
 
I've been calling daily for the past 2 weeks. Trying to get exactly what we want for our upcoming trip!! I've never had to do this before but we planned this trip just a few weeks ago. Not how we usually do disney but I'm not complaining!!

I've been in that boat, too. With 6 different 2br possibilities at BLT (3 views, lock off and dedicated in each), I don't want to risk missing out on a view/category I am unable to waitlist.
 
I have been calling daily because of the 2 WL limit. I decided just last month to try to switch 2 of my 7 nights to BLT. It is opening week and I doubt the WL will come through but I do call to see if I can luck into a room.

A few times, they even put me on hold thinking they might be able to get me the view I am not WL'd for. I even joked with MS about my daily calls and they said it is not a problem since availability changes so much.

Typically, I will book at 11 months, what I want and hopefully, won't be in this situation of WL'ing too often.

I call when I feel its necessary at this point its not much but I will call if I need to since it my $$$ paying for it all!
 
We call maybe once a year, maybe twice a year if we have to bank points.

That's so strange, I'm in the exact same situation. I call 1-3 times a day for the last 2 weeks to double check and I've never done that before. It seems to work, though, because so far we've been able to change 3 of our 6 nights...
