How often do you actually use your dining room table for meals?

Only a handfull of times a year. We use the kitchen table for everyday. But DW and I did a great job on the design and decorating of the dining room (If I do say so myself) so I can't imagine not having a table in there, even if we use it sparingly.

We eat our meals at the kitchen table. We only use our dining room table about 8 times a year. I guess I tend to reserve it for guests - why I'm not sure?? :confused3 :teeth:
::yes:: Well, I don't really reserve it for guests....it's just too nice in there to eat every day. The table top needs a little work so it has NICE tablecloth and placemats on it at all times. BUT, I have a DD4 and DS3, who are NOT the world's neatest eaters, and I don't feel like washing the linens every night! Actually, the tablecloth has to be dry-cleaned, so that's definitely a NO GO!

We usually use our dining room around the holidays....

(Actually, since we moved here 3 months ago, it has yet to be cleared off. We're still decorating in there (since we don't use it often, it was at the bottom of the priority list!) and it's being used to hold other stuff that hasn't found a home yet!)

We have a large nook with a table that can seat 8, so we eat there. We actually use our dining room as an office and don't own a dining room table. The table in our nook is formal enough to go in a dining room, so we feel comfortable enough having formal meals in there.

Dining room table? LOL! My dining room is an office.

We eat at the dining room table at least 5 nights a week. Sometimes if there are only 2 of us we eat at the kitchen table. I also like everyone to eat together whenever possible :)

When DW and DDs were here, we used it every night, and sometimes at lunchtime on weekends. Now DDs are grown and gone, and DW is working out of state for 2 years. If I am alone, I never eat at the dining table.

Every day, we have a galley kitchen

I forgot to mention that the dining room table does get some use. We eat at it for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Sometimes during the summer it gets used if there are a lot of people here.

The most fun anyone gets from using the table would be my husband. He hosts two or three Texas Hold 'Em Poker parties a year. :)

are you me?

that's when we use ours...holidays and for poker parties.

we have a breakfast nook with a table that seats 6 so we use that nearly every night.

we sit down to a family meal just about every week night but no in the dining room. We eat at the kitchen table. We probably only use the dining room table 2-3 times a year.

When my sons lived at home we ate there for every meal when people were home to eat. Now my husband and I eat from TV trays in the living room.

We never bought a dining room table, even though we shopped for one several times. We have a dinnette table in the dining room. I realized that when I have company over we use a tablecloth, which hides the table, and now especially since the room is used for other things, I feel it is just as well that we didn't spend the money on a big formal table. The dinette is wood-toned, and it expands to an oval that seats 6 easily and 8 crowded, so it doesn't look too bad, but it obviously isn't a dining room table.

Not too often. On the weekends I like to make a nice breakfast for DH and I, so we use it then. During the week we usually end up sitting in front of the TV and eating. Of course when people are over we always use the table.
