I just called DFTW...it wasn't anything special. One thing that I found interesting was that she kept saying that "This is the price in 2009, and that could change for 2010." Didn't matter what I asked either. Now would they give me prices for 2009. :confused3 At least if she had done that I would have been able to budget for something... Oh well.

So, how often do wedding prices go up???

Prices change all the time. It depend on what it is.

Food and beverage prices are usually guaranteed through the end of WDW's fiscal year (which starts on Oct. 1), while the package price of an Escape wedding is usually set to the calendar year. Other costs - transportation, floral, photography, etc. - can change at any time.

That's why they're so cagey about prices. When you have a Wishes wedding, they lock in your prices 6 months before your event. So even if they go up later, you are guaranteed to get the price they quoted you 6 months out.

Hmmm...I didn't learn anything from this phone call that I couldn't have gotten here. :confused3
Oh well. It was fun to call. Wish they would have offered some information or something I felt like I had to pull to get what I did get...
I guess they are a bit different when you tell them directly you want to book a wedding vs. needing information.

Don't be too bummed about the phone call. I found that they don't take phone calls very seriously until you've planned a site visit, or told them you'll be getting married there, or put down money. Not trying to be overly cynical or anything, but you're not really dealing with a regular wedding planning company here, you're dealing with a huge corporation that also happens to offer some really fabulous weddings princess:

I always found their responses to be very vague and canned-corporate-esque until I was at the point of having an actual coordinator and planner. Once I was assigned a coordinator (Diane Mahoney-Brown), I found the process to be great and very clear. Diane was amazing and secured some great things that were important to us for our wedding. I also love my wedding planner (Marion).

When you meet them face to face, you will come away with real answers to your questions :thumbsup2

Thanks! You have no clue how much better this makes me feel. I was kinda bummed that they were so blah. Thanks again~

I called to get some general info at about 20 months out and spoke to someone called Lizette. She was great and answered my questions, and also told me to call around 18 months. I forgot to ask something so when I called back I got someone else who was really unhelpful and almost rude. Luck of the draw I think.

When I called back at 18 months I spoke to a lady called Brianna who was great - she 'pencilled' in our date, location and time and told me to call back at 12 months. She sent me an email with all the details on, and most of the questions I had were in there. Things like how long does the ceremony last, and the cake reception afterwards, and how long before the ceremony should people be at the venue etc.

When I called last week (12 months - YAY!) I spoke to Brianna and booked it.

Don't fret about not getting much info at this stage. You will get loads - trust me!!

Thanks for the heads up. Makes me feel better that they will provide me with some kind of info eventually. This just doesn't seem real to me. :upsidedow :upsidedow don't get me wrong, I'm excited...It just doesnt seem real. We've been engaged for a month and it still seems like I'm still just planning for fun. We have some time to wait (about 2 years so I can finish school-I graduate in May 2009_)-So, it will only be about a year and a half once I graduate
