How often do GT rooms get upgraded to the next level up?

I booked an OGT and I am completely and totally happy getting an oceanview room, but I am just wondering how often anyone gets upgraded to the next level up to a VGT.

I understand that every cruise is different and it really just depends on how many rooms are available, but if anyone has been upgraded from an IGT to OGT or OGT to VGT, was this just a one time lucky upgrade? Or does it happen often?

I have only booked a OGT room once before I didn’t get any type of upgrade.

If you look through the room assignment threads you'll find that most people get the category they book.

I think it's rather rare someone with an OGT gets bumped up to a verandah -- likely because something very last-minute happened to the room that was assigned. Always book the category in which you will be happy staying.
