How often are bed comforters changed?

Does anyone know how often is the top comforter on the beds at the Polynesian changed? I always remove and set aside.

The rooms at the Poly are in the process of being redone. The new bedding does not have a comforter. You can see pics of the new bedding over in the Poly FAQ Thread.

I am guessing you mean washed? I always set them aside too.... I would hope they are washed between each guest, but my mom taught me otherwise growing up.

I understand all the deluxe are going to this.. We have had it at other hotels.. Usually they lay a color runner over the end.. I love it.. Triple sheets are the best!!

CBR is in the midst of getting the triple sheets right now too.

Hotel industry standard for comforters is that they are generally laundered once every 90 days, unless something spills on them or they get stained, etc. This is why many hotels are going towards duvets because they are much easier to clean and change out.

same. wont experience the new Polynesian rooms until September but in general this is what we do.

All Star Sports has this. Well I can't remember "triple sheets", but instead of a comforter there is a white blanket/heavy sheet with a runner at the end. I love the fact that all these white linens can be bleached often!

We always remove the top duvet or bed spread.
You never know who's little shoes have been on the top of the bed - a fun place for little ones to relax, nap or jump (depending on the parents and the little ones).

BWI-CL had no comforters back the end of May. DH was so happy as he seems to be allergic to the comforters.

BWV still had the comforters at the end of April. We always remove them from the beds though!

A lot of hotels (I know Marriott and Hyatt for sure) use duvets which are lighter and cotton, and the covers can be changed. Much easier to store/wash and are changed more frequently, if not between guests. Some hotels will also do top flat sheet/blanket/bottom flat sheet combo, which are changed between guests.

We were in a Hampton Inn this weekend and they had signs in the elevators that said they change the duvets and sheets for every guest. If Hampton inn can do it Disney can do it.

After 90 days they should just burn them.

I would burn the ones in my own house if I didn't wash them more often.... we actually use a bedspread at home because I wash everything on my bed at home weekly.

Yep. Just stayed at two Hampton Inns and they had the same signs. Made me happy happy. AKL had not gone to the triple sheeting as of two weeks ago. I was hoping to see it.
