I have been looking and there are so many different prices for meals..how do you know how much it is?? Prices can range from $15-$59 for buffets..something about holiday pricing??

I just want to know what it is going to cost me to eat there....

Check www.AllEars.net, they have the best formatted menus that I have seen (though I do take issue with all of the sites out there :p).

They also tend to list the pricing a bit better than Disney and WDWInfo (which, lately, has taken a steep nose-dive in this department).

This is good to know.:thumbsup2 I have been using WDWinfo for restaurant pricing.

What buffet have you been looking at the quotes $59 per person???
On the official Disney site they use price ranges, however, they are not individual restaurant ranges, but a range where that restaurant fits. As such, CM will plop down into the $35-$59.99 range as the average adult price is between those numbers. It's VERY misleading how it works.

WDWInfo (The DIS's parent site) has been pulling this as their prices lately for several locations, which drives me crazy. AllEars is still using the reported menu price. Of course, since those are reported by users, they can be off or outdated, but it's a much better guide than a $30 price range.

I'm sharing your dilemma. We are booked for Crystal Palace breakfast and 1900 Park Fare dinner in 2 weeks and I have no idea what the cost is anymore. The allears menus haven't been updated in a very long time (2009 for 1900PF). Are buffet dinner prices really $ 59.99 for an adult? :scared1: (Could someone who has eaten there recently without the dining plan please confirm.)

I think it was $35.99 for non-peak and 39.99 for peak season
For children 3~9 17.99 for non-peak and 19.99 for peak season

Here is my thread where I have surcharge seasons listed, with prices of most character buffets:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2627843

Prices are raised during surcharge period to reflect an increase of $4.00/adult and $2.00/child per meal plus tax. You will not see surcharge price listed, as Disney just reprints menus and signs throughout the year to reflect that current price.

RE: $59.00 buffets - there are no regular buffet dinners that are that expensive. Currently, most expensive 1 TS credit meal is Akershus at approx. $47.00/adult (tax incl) and 2 TS is CRT.

Hope this helps, Tiger

Thanks for the thread...thats crazy pricing...the whole Disney experience includes eating at the resturants and having character meals, with ticket prices soaring it will no longer be afforable for us...after our October trip I don't know when we will be able to go back.

I love Disney and it makes me so sad to see this happening....they have made so many changes since I have been going....

holiday...weekend....peak season rates at the resorts plus preferred room rates
on my October trip I have 4 different upcharges for our room...fall season, holiday, weekend and value season within 11 days. Sept 28-Oct 9th

now adding extra $$$ for peak season rates for resturants

all this while tickets go up and up and now they say they are not going to offer as many discounts...

I know they are adding new resorts and improving attractions and its a business but geeze

This type of hotel pricing - daily rates- has been in effect for years. Disney was late adopting it. It is not just Disney, it is the industry. I am going to a weekend wedding in a few weeks and we are staying in a hotel for 3 nights. I am paying 3 different rates. It is the way it is.
Ticket prices aren't soaring - they were raised modestly IMO. And food prices are going up everywhere as well. I am paying more at my local grocery store. How could you expect to not pay more at a restaurant when the costs are up. This is true at restaurants near home, as well as at Disney.

But the difference here is that at Disney world you have to have get there, have a room, buy tickets and eat......why does it all have to be so expensive

you can get a room on the beach and lounge around.....but a trip to dfsney means all of the above...so why can't they keep prices down...with all the millions they bring in with everything disney I think they could so that.

Make it a place a family can go to...like Walt wanted.
almost $100 a day just for one park ticket ...
A family cannot afford to go anymore...with the economy the way it is...I don't know it just makes me sad...

I love disney and want my grandkids to be able to go.

I am sorry that you feel Disney is too expensive for your family.
But I feel your position is unrealistic and "all about me".

You stated in an earlier post that Disney was a business. It is not just a business, it is a PUBLICLY TRADED company that has a LEGAL obligation to its shareholders. Management could be sued for mismanagement if they did not try to make a profit.

You talk about all the millions Disney makes. It is not all profit. Have you thought about the expense of running Disney? Let's think about just one aspect. The FREE transportation on property - the buses, trams, boats, ferries and Monorail. Every Cast Member who works in transportation deserves to make a living wage as well. There are fuel costs, vehicle maintenace etc. etc etc.
And that is only one element. It goes on and on.

:3dglasses OH, SO TRUE!! WE'd all like to keep the business side of WDW in a bubble which we don't have to see and think about!!
I am a shareholder- I like to see a profit. And I'm a quest and I like to have those special offers and discounts, too. I know when I'm planning my vacations, I'm usually locked into a certain time that I can go, if I get a deal GREAT! But, it doesn't hapen for me very often. For the guests that can see a deal/offer they like and plan around that- they're the lucky ones.:wizard:

Not unrealistic.....wishful and hopeful that Disney won't keep raising prices and changing things, so the magic will still be there and reachable for all....pixiedust:
