How much younger is too young?

I am 14 years younger than DH. I don't have a problem with it and don't even notice an age difference but I know others that wouldn't even consider it.

Depends on the age of the man.

Maybe two or three years in High School to as big as a difference as you can get once you pass 50.

What if YOU were 14 years older than your DH? Would it be different then? I think society is used to older men and younger women. What aobut the other way around?

My best friend is nine years older than her husband. I have another friend who is twelve years older than her husband, and my mother is ten years older than her husband. It works fine for all of them.

To me personally, too young would be illegal. Although I always wonder what middle aged men have in common with their 20-something "trophy brides" as I have heard them called. Their business, not mine, I just wonder about it.

Depends on the age. Wouldn't want to see a 35 year old man with an 18 year old girl. But a 52 year old with a 35 year old wouldn't bug me as much.

However, for the most part, I don't care. And it isn't any of my business anyway.

I think age comes into play less, the older you get. An 11 year old and an 18 year old -- Pedophile and jail time in your future (and rightfully so). A 70 year old and a 77 year old -- who cares.

My aunt was nearly 50 when she married her youngest son's friend. He was 18! Amazingly, they are still together after several years.

(You do NOT want to hear what my Grandma <HER MOTHER> said when i asked what she could possible want with someone that young! )

I totally agree with this. Once you are out of college even, it really doesn't matter any longer.

As long as we didn't have a problem with it I don't think it is anyone else's business. My SIL is ~20 years older than my brother. She won't tell us her age but she has children around my brother age. They don't have a problem with it and are both consenting adults.

It's too young when it's ILLEGAL!!

I've never dated a man older than me... just turned out that way. Most of the younger men I was with were WAY more mature than I am!! I'm a true kid at heart.

I prefer being with a man who is the oldest in his family. They tend to be more mature than me who is the youngest in my family. That's always been a good match for me.

My current is 9 years younger than me but he's the oldest in his family. His maturity factor is lightyears older than mine!!!

Personally, for me, 5-6 years either way. I'm really not into balding middle aged men and not into young college age boys.

At least on my own maturity level.

But, I've known couples that had a lot more years between their ages. And generally it worked for them.

my sister in law-who is 39 has been with a man who is 25 years her senior for about 7 years-she had no expectation of ever having children and he takes good care of her so it works much better than her marriage-but i think its just her personality.
I have a close friend whos marriage failed after about 23 years-she got it together and met an awesome man-everyone around her adores him- they have been married about three years and shes mid 40s with two grown children-hes 32 with three under 10-and they are having a baby togeher-so its what ever works for you.
