Fair enough. It's impossible to compare a Six Flags seasonal pass with a WDW AP since you're paying for 2 vastly different experiences.

Yeah you are. Six Flags is a day park. WDW is an immersive experience (or can be). Talk about brand loyalty. Do you know anybody with a Six Flags tattoo? Neither do I.

Ok, question here is that Disney can charge you the price per day for their resorts if they fall into two seasons, then why could they not do this with tickets then.

Maybe, just maybe I might start venturing elsewhere for fun. Ahhhh, I doubt it. But I do believe at some point Disney will price my visits
out to be much, much further apart than what they have been in the past ten years or so. And that may be what they are wanting to do.:scratchin

I will say this is for an interesting read!

I didn't vote because none of the options really apply to my opinion...

I would be happy to pay a one-time fee similar to adding on a PH or WP&M option to tickets (same price no matter how many days). I think I'd be comfortable with a one-time fee of $50.

Any "per day" price is too much unless it's about $5/day per ticket.

Disney is absolutely outrageously priced...resorts, park tickets, AND dining. The most reasonable thing is park tickets I guess considering it's a full day of entertainment but it's still incredibly expensive.

Our October trip will definitely be our last unless we somehow have an extra $4k burning a hole in our pockets years from now...

Zilch. If a line is longer than I am ok with standing in (generally over 20 minutes), I just will not do it...

i haven't waited more than 30 minutes for a ride in quite some time as i've come up with strategies that help me avoid doing so.

i wouldn't pay anything for a guarantee of no more than 30 minutes.

I think the most we have ever waited is 20 minutes, and that was at Soarin' with a FP. No, we would not pay any extra. As many of the other comments here, we have expanded our horizons and are going other places. Cruises (not Disney, too expensive), Universal Studios (gasp!), Mexico, Hawaii and Disneyland. We are DVC members for 10 years now and the only way we buy Disney tickets any more is if we have plans to go to Florida to catch cruises and plan several vacations that go through Florida in one calendar year, and then we buy an AP. Hasn't happened in quite some time, though. They are pricing us out.

Not only would I pay nothing for this service, I have enough unused non-expiring WDW multi day passes on hand, that I won't be able to use them all for several years. By then, I probably won't be purchasing any more WDW tickets. Done like dinner.

I just compared the chart to current prices and for my family it would be $200 more for 7 day park passes during a gold week. I wouldn't pay that for a guaranteed 30 minute wait, but if it meant the crowd was reduced by 1/3, or even 1/4 I'd pay it. The ticket price is going to increase every year anyway, at least this way we'd actually get something for the increase instead of nothing.

I would like to say I would pay for shorter lines because waiting in lines is no fun, but I can't because I am too cheap. I wouldn't pay. Seems that everything at WDW is getting so complicated, why make it even more complicated. I have zero plans to visit WDW in the future and I used to go every year.

And Fastpass + might be free in terms of dollars but it certainly is not free in terms of time. You can put a lot of time in setting up your fastpass accounts and then getting rides/times you want. Not to mention the time spent arranging park days and what you can do at the park in between your Fastpass times and waiting in line to get more than three Fastpasses. I like to go with the flow on vacation so all this planning tends to irritate me.

Voting currently stands at 76% saying "Zero," which seems a little low--this is the Budget Board, after all. ;) But if this poll was posted on the Attractions & Strategies board, I think it would probably be over 50%, at least.

WDW wasn't always egalitarian (remember the ticket books where you could get more rides if you paid more), but most of us are familiar with that philosophy. Whether you stay onsite or off, whether you stay in a Deluxe or a Budget, pay 1 admission price and having the same opportunity to ride/wait as everybody else (with knowledge of crowd calendars and touring plans giving one an edge).

FP+ was a step away from that, with onsite guests now having a 30-day booking advantage over offsite. This would be yet another step away. I'm not surprised most think that's not a good idea for them.

I wouldn't pay extra for a 30 minutes maximum wait time guarantee. Then again, I rarely ever wait more than 30 minutes in a line ride. Maybe once or twice on a trip if I have messed up my plan in some way. Instead, we use smart use of FP, timing of when we are in the park and strategy to minimize our wait times.

So along these same lines, how many have actually spent money on Touring Plans to optimize your time in the parks? I'll be the first to raise my hand. Seems like a small investment to save a lot of time.

I voted $0.000000
20 min wait is the longest wait for me and then I'm off to find something else to do.

I was one of the many who bought non expiry tickets and used them over a 5 or more year time period.
I still have a couple of days left.
I like buying single day passes when I can afford them using my CAA dollars, if tickets were to begin to have expiry dates I think I'd be taking alot less park visits.

How would they do this with off site guests?
They currently promote staying on site and getting 60 days out to book FP+
and access to Extra Magic Hours.

I voted 0 -nothing.
I think its just another idea that Disney has to squeeze every dollar out of the consumer that they can. But you can blame them.
That is their job to market their products and make the highest profit they can. My job is to enjoy Disney for the most economical way possible for me.

I voted zero.

I go at off times as well as was there this past December 26. I didnt wait in any lines and did everythign. Some things twice. Granted, we were at BLT and at RD at MK 30 minutes prior to opening.

I never wait in any line especially if I see anposted wait tome of 30 minutes.

My honest opinion is they are trying to push people to go with the annual pass...think about it. If you are one of those people that need to go during the busy times (school breaks), you are probably going to cough up the money no matter what. Switching weeks or skipping days isn't an option. You would probably consider shortening the trip a day or two, but a lot of people would justify it the other way....if I'm going to pay somewhere in the 4-500 range for tickets, why not just spend a few hundred more to get the AP? Right there, Disney has convinced you to probably take a second trip either you weren't planning on or hadn't planned on so soon, to "take advantage" of the AP. It is a win/win for them, either you pay more up front or you come back and spend more on the rest of the stuff! Our local zoo recently did the same thing...ticket prices were a steady $16 for 8 months of the year and about half that in the winter, but now it varies based on projected attendance and can easily double that on projected busy days. Membership prices, however, stayed the same. Many people are opting to buy the membership for just a couple of dollars more, which will bring them back to the zoo once or twice more than they normally would've, which generally will mean higher sales for the zoo in terms of food, rides, gifts, etc.
