I babysit in my home and charge $135.00 a week. I choose not to be licensed, therefore can not watch more than two unrelated children at a time. I usually just watch one so it is just them and myself, and my three kids. I provide breakfast, snacks and lunch and a fun, safe loving family environment.
I belevie the fees vary depending on the situation though. Before my two 4 year olds, I charged $200.00 a week for one child, because I offered more one on one, specialized attention. I was also a nanny in the past, and went to their home and charged $9.00 an hour full time. I have watched children for 4 hours a day, and charged $30.00 a day for that.
The rate I am charging now is the going rate for the big daycare centers in the area, so they are getting a good deal. Yes, it doesn't add up to much per hour, but I love the children I watch, and I am doing what I do best and love doing, which is being a mom full time and giving these children and mine a great start in this life!!!
