How much would you pay/charge? Feeding cats while away

My DDs get $20/weekend when they feed the cat and water the plants for our next door neighbor. Three visits, but it is right next door so very easy. One cat, a few plants on the deck. They would gladly do it for free, but she insists they take the money. I think $50/week would be fine for a HS or younger student. I would probably pay more if they have to drive over.

We pay a neighborhood kid $15 a day to clean out the litter box and give fresh water and food. She comes over every other day.

I pay a mom friend $10 a visit to come feed and water the cats, and hang out for a bit. Because they are cats she can come when she likes, around her schedule. She likes the extra money, and it only takes her about 45 minutes including travel time.

DDs friend, a high school senior, came over three times while we were out of town to feed the cat, fish and DDs two rats.

I am giving her $10/day.

I got some referrals from a friend for catsitters. It was either $10 per visit or $20 for overnights. Our male cat cannot eat dry food, and thinks he will die if he is not fed several times a day. My only concern was having someone I didn't know having access to my house. Luckily, my niece moved back here after college. She's going to stay the night, and feed him morning and night, and I'm going to pay her $20 a day. He will just have to make do with twice. I would rather pay someone I know!

We pay $10/ day for two cats to a neighbor girl. her mom does think we over-pay her a bit.

Does the fee change depending on how many cats you have and how many litter boxes they have to clean?

Our cat sitter charges about $30 per day, which includes two visits. It's a lot, but we trust her, so I guess it's worth it. For a week-long trip, though, it does add up!

We need someone to come to our house once a day to feed our cats and water our garden while we're away. I've always had family or friends do it, and I have no clue how much to offer to pay. What would you say is fair per day?

I paid a 'professional' cat sitter (she owned a pet store/rescue in our area at the time) $18 per visit.

Geeez what did she do? Cat massages, mani pedis??

My friend is coming for 5 days to feed the cats, take in our mail, and turn on the sprinkler to water the garden. She refused payment, so I got her a $50 gift card. Thanks for all the input everyone. Problem solved and awkward situation (sorta) avoided!

Well it was in a rural area, so she had to drive like 15 miles each way to get to my house, plus she did the litter boxes, fed them, fresh water, groomed them, played with them. She spent about 45 min at my house each time she came, so it wasn't like a five minute thing. My only other option was to board the cats, at something like $40/day each. I figured it was a bargain.
