How much would you be willing to pay for this concert?

The concert consists of 3 excellent musicians: a pianist, a violinist and a singer. I'm paying $20.00 which I think is a little steep. Am I wrong? I really don't get out to concerts. Our band charges $15. for a concert with pretty good guest artists. .

Steep? Can you put a price on excellence and enjoyment? It would certainly encourage further excellence. It's money well spent.:thumbsup2

I don't think thats steep at all.

Steep? I just paid $250 + taxes and fee's X2 to see Cher in Las Vegas. Where are you seeing this concert for $20?

:thumbsup2 I spend $500 to take my daughter, my sister and my neice to Jonas this summer

LOL. I can see how meager my amount seems.

I see where you're all coming from! Thanks for your perspective! I guess I've gotten so used to making my own music that I haven't gotten out in the concert world.

This concert is at my church. Because I'm musical people expect me to be there. I know I'll enjoy it.

Tickets for Seinfeld at Las Vegas are $91. My friends are going. I think that is reasonable for Seinfeld.

And the recital tickets on the ballet thread are around $15. so I guess I'm in the right ballpark.

It's just that the last church concert I went to was opera. It was set at $20. donation and guess what, only about 20 people came out to hear it.

I just spent 560.00 on RT tickets to FL from Dallas , 29 DVC points, food for 3nights and 4 days . TO SEE RICK SPRINGFIELD at Epcot LOLOLOL

20 bucks is not sounding to bad my friend

Wow. I have been made aware of the price of concert tickets in the real world! Yeah, I think the price is more of a donation than anything.

I'd much rather pay $20 to see talented musicians in a small, more intimate venue, than to pay the ridiculous prices that popular acts get for huge venues, where you basically watch them on TV.

I am going to agree with the OP, I think its a little steep for a church performance. We have several professional musicians that perform in our area churches, these are people you have heard of that have received Dove Awards and I don't ever remember any of them charging that much. It is usually $15 at most and many times its less than that.

if it's a donation to the church then I think that's great and still a great price

Are they nationally reknowned or are they local and REALLY good?

I'm planning to pay $20 for a charity concert from a duo that isn't terribly well known but does have a contract in Nashville and sponsored tour. They've started a tradition of this concert in 1/2 the duo's hometown (my town) - all the proceeds benefit Special Olympics... if it weren't a charity show, I wouldn't be willing to pay more than $10/ticket.

I attend 1-2 concerts a month from Fall to Spring and $20 is around where they start, so that show is trending with the norm :thumbsup2

I saw Nothingface, Shadow's Fall, Fear Factory and System of a Down at a Church in Northhampton Ma back in 1999 and I paid $35, so $20 is a bargain :goodvibes Now how those bands played at a Church is the real question, it was funny watching the Reverend nod his head along to the music the whole time though :lmao:

Anyway Church or no Church $20 is acceptable and the going rate for small to medium size venue shows.....

How well know locally are they, do they have a big following? That is a bit high for a local concert at least around here. I would say $15 is about as high as I have seen. I know the local bands that my DD goes to see don't get that high.

It is usually around $10 and sometimes lower.
