How much would this house cost where you live?

I'll echo this! My sister sold a tiny house in Franklin County PA last year for over 100,000 when she had only paid 83,000 for it 2 years earlier. They're getting Washington DC and Harrisburg sprawl out there.

My sister bought a house 2 years ago for $180,000 (in Arizona) and sold it 18 MONTHS later for $325,000!!!!

In Rockford, Michigan - a wonderful small town with character, a cute downtown area, and good schools - between 140,000 and 160,000.

central to the north end of the county, about 80K.south end double that at least. 3-4X if within Woodstock City limits probably.

I'd say in my town.... it would depend on what neighborhood it was in, but anywhere from $60k to $100k

Wow. 87,000 is amazing and the house prices aren't even that high where I live to begin with. I would have guessed around 150,000 for a house like that in my middle class suburb. I bought my 1200 square foot, four bedroom, two full bath bungalow five years ago for 90,000.

I would LOVE to have a house like that. It's so much more interesting than the usual cookie cutter brick houses all over the area.

If I had to judge what it would cost here, I'd say about $250,000.

$150,000 to $280,000 easy, depending on condition, how desirable the street was, etc. If it had been completely updated with high end remodeling and appliances in kitchen and baths, nice woodwork, etc it could easily go over $300,000-$350,000.

My house has doubled in value since we bought it 10 years ago. If we actually fixed it up a little (LOL) and updated the kitchen and baths it would go for even more. (which we are planning on doing of course)

If you could find one around here your looking at $400,000 .

They have a covered horse barn in a back alley no real street address a bit smaller listed for $940,000 .The guy put alot of money into it but for this area it's just not going to go for that.

3 bdrm row houses ( Most of this area) at going upwards of $200,000 now.

about 250,000 these days, prices are dropping big time!

depending on the proximity to Lake Michigan, between 1 million on the high end and $750,000 on the low end. But of course someone would probably then tear it down and build a McMansion

Our town only has one subdivision, so these older houses and neighborhoods don't really compete for sales.

This is a pretty desireable neighborhood to live in, and unfortunately, the house will be long gone by the time we're ready to buy. :(

It's $87,500.

We're looking to spend around $100K, and that ought to buy us a BIG ol' house!

OMG, in our neighborhood, it would be about 10 X that amount!!

:rotfl2: OMG, PD, I'd never heard anyone call it Pennsyltucky until I met my DH, who's from your neck of the woods. What you all must think of us here!

In order to earn any kind of money, people around here have to commute anywhere from 1/2 hour to an hour away. We've talked about moving closer to where DH works (Pittsburgh), but we wouldn't be able to afford our current level of lifestyle if we did that!

I lived north of that "manson-nixon" line for most of my life so i get to call it Pennsyltucky too!

Agh... you live in Pennsyltucky! ;)

:rotfl2: I've always heard Pa described as Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, with Alabama in between.

It would really depend on the condition of the house, the neighborhood, and the amount of land but the absolute minimum would be $450k here. It could go as high as 3/4 of a million depending on the condition of the house.

You can buy a single wide trailer for $87k in a crappy part of town. I need to move :rolleyes1

It would really depend on how updated it is inside. Do you have any inside pictures? In our old town that house would go for under $200,000 unless it was really updated, nice kitchen, etc. then it would be around $300,000. In our new town, not sure but maybe $450,000 give or take for condition. I know of a couple towns around here that a house like that would go for $800,000 or so because that style of house is very popular, if it were updated inside, half of that if it needs work.
