and this month will be much more since it's been so frigid!! And we have 3 zones, which I thought would save us a ton...we keep one zone on 65, one on 67 and one usually on 65-68.
We jsut switched from oil to gas heat 2 months ago. Our bill for Dec. was$215 and the electric was $65. Time to start shutting off some lights and look into new windows and doors.
Electric was $125 last month
and gas has $150
kinda high but temps outside 20's for high and single digit lows
so not expecting gas bill to be lower actually I'll bet gas bill would get close to $200 if Feb was a longer month
Originally posted by rbuzzotta Mine was OUTRAGEOUS!! Gas and Electric bill just came in a few days ago...............$644.!!!! If I pay it by a certain date is will ONLY be 630!!!
Gas bills around here will be higher for the next six months because the Ontario Energy Board has now allowed the gas company to collect the money it lost, for the 2001 heating season, when gas purchase prices were higher than forecast.
This month's bill is $205. CND, (furnace and water heater) including an extra $20. I have to pay until June. I think this was a pretty poor time to collect the money, when everyone's gas bills are high anyway!
Edited to add:
Daytime thermostat is 22ºC = 71.6ºF
Nightime is 19ºC = 66.2ºF
We also have a gas fireplace which we occasionally use.
Wow those are HIGH !! gas = $88.00 and I have gas everything! Stove, furnace, wash/dryer, heat, water heater!! What do you guys keep your heat at? Mine is at 68-70 degrees all day and night.
Our gas bill (budget) is $52 month. Our electric (budget) is $92 month. We have gas heat, stove, dryer, etc are all gas also.We keep our thermostat on 69 degrees in winter.
Right now the house is at 67 degrees. It usually has been around 66 or 65. At night it's been down to 62. This morning when I took the dog outside, I had steam coming from my breath! This is SOUTH Florida!
