we are geting a couples massage as part of our REAS package, how much would one tip for this prepaid service and how do you do it? Do I just give the tech's cash? Since it is prepaid I am not sure if there will be the normal slip to sign

They had the cost for each of our massages as being $89 (even though we did it through the REAS Package, they still listed the price of the massage, I guess so we could see the price, and tip accordingly. Not sure when you're sailing, but for 2005, the price of the massage and the REAS package have gone up).

They did give us a slip, so we charged the tip to our account. I'm sure you give them cash if you wanted to. 20% would've been about $18, but DH and I each rounded up and tipped them $20 each. They did a wonderful job!

Enjoy your massage!!! :sunny:

we are going in three weeks, I think the REAS cost like 300.00 or so, Anyhow you are saying they will give me a slip saying the massages are 89.00 each and they will show an 89.00 credit? That is good to know I can just write it on the slip, do I get two slips so I can teach each massuse seperatly?

Yes, DH and I were each given a separate slip, and each was tipped separately. The slip listed the massage as being $89 but had "REAS" or something like "Romance Package" written next to it, to show that they weren't charging for the massage itself. Like I said, I'm sure they wanted to show the price of the massage (if booked by itself outside of the package) so we could tip accordingly. The total that we were charged on the cruise was only the tip amount. When you get the print out from Guest Services of all of your charges made during the cruise, you will see the date, the word "Spa" and then the charge ONLY for the amount of your tip.

Hope this helps :)

My DH and I did a couples massage on our most recent cruise. At the end, our individual tech's gave each of us a slip to sign. My DH added a $15 tip for his tech, while I added a $20 tip for mine. We hadn't discussed it ahead of time and because the techs were in the room while we signed, we didn't discuss it until after we left. My DH felt a little embarassed...I wish we had read a thread like this ahead of time so we could have been better prepared!:D

I think the massage portion has gone up appreciably from the $89 mark recently (Thus the increase in the REAS cost.).
Either Dave or Barb's sites have an up to date price list and you can calculate from there.

The price increase isn't reflected for the couples' massages that have been booked via the REAS package for 2004, even though the couples' massage has gone up in price if you go on the cruise and book it there. I was surprised to see that the price of $89 was already written on the form, by my masseuse.

If you are cruising in 2005, the cost of the REAS package is higher. I'm sure the higher price (of the massage) will be written down on the slip after January 1st.
