How much to tip... furniture delivery

Nope. I just paid a bundle for the furniture and delivery. The furniture store needs to pay the delivery guy. I already paid.

I also don't tip the cable guy.

10-15% of the purchase price and any external factors unique to your home (stairs, dogs, etc...)

So, if you purchased a $6000 living room set of furniture, you would tip $600 - $900 and possibly more because you own a dog?

If that is the case my husband is quitting his job and will be a furniture delivery guy in exactly 2 weeks. Imagine how many deliveries they do in a week.

I never had a delivery guy stick around long enough for me to offer. We had free delivery when our mattress was delivered and as soon as it was set up they were gone. I couldn't even offer them a drink of water. So I never tip.

I would do $20 each because of the stairs and the rain. I ALWAYS tip for things I wouldn't want to do myself.

And OP, congrats for your nephew! Getting your first adult-sized bed is a wonderful feeling! He must really feel like your place is "home" now. :)

I would have never occurred to me to tip the cable guy.:confused3

Furniture guy...depends on if they have a long and involved set up. Even so, about $10 per person.

To the person who tips 10-15%. You've got to be kidding...

I usually tip $20. If they have to put something together, I will tip a little more.

Thank you! He was so excited. We finally have his room so that it is all his. He loves it. Of course now he has a better bed than us. So DH and I kept teasing that we were switching rooms :)

Tipping can be so tricky at times, especially when traveling to other countries. The slightest mistake in amount or not realizing that a tip is required can come across as rude. Even in this country, what is expected can change so much from one town to another.
