We are going to Disney in August and I am trying to figure out what my options are regarding the AP vouchers that I bought in 12/04.

I paid, including tax, about $375, I think, in 12/04, for the AP vouchers (adult ones). Now if I need to upgrade to PAP, how much do I need to pay, with the DVC discount?

I remember I have to pay the difference between what I actually paid on the AP vouchers and the PAP's current price. Is this still true?

I am getting a little behind with all the Disney's ticket changes and DVC discount offerings.

Thanks in advance!!! :)

I think I fiugred it out.

After the $125 discount, I have to pay around $160 in total for a family of 4. This is a great deal. Unfortunately I will lose the lower priced AP for the vouchers that I bought in 2004.

Is it possible for us NOT to upgrade in this upcoming trip, just activate the AP, but upgrade in the next trip, with the upgrade price pro-rated for the time left on the AP?

Thanks

Reports on this board have been in the +/- $20 range for a family of four. Disney seems to be flipping around on their policies concerning an AP to PAP upgrade, but $160 seems high. In March, we upgraded from active APs to PAPs and there was no charge.

Disney no longer considers the amount of time left on your AP when calculating the upgrade price. You would pay the the price of a new (DVC discounted) less the price you paid for your AP no matter when you decide to upgrade. If your original AP cost more than the DVC discounted PAP, you trade "even up". Some have reported that they were getting a refund of about $15 when they upgraded, but that is not happening anymore (unless the CM happens to make an error in your favor).

Best wishes -

Thanks for your replies.

I spoke to someone at Member Services today regarding the upgrade and she told me it depends on who is at the ticket window, the policy may vary depending on the CM.

The price difference seems to be more for us because the AP vouchers I paid was before 2 increases. So to upgrade to a PAP, I have to pay the difference between the price and I paid and the current PAP price.

Very excited to go to Disney again. We were supposed to go to Maui in 2006, I told DH now that we will have the AP, 2006 will be our Disney year again.

MY boss thinks I am nuts for not going to Maui :flower: I am actually more excited about going to Disney than Hawaii!!!!
