I'd pay $5 or $6 for a homemade pie, $10 if it looks fantastic! (add some dough leaves to the top before baking). It is more than the store bakery , but it's for the school.
I did put pie crust leaves on the top. Years ago, I got this cute little cutter set from Wm Sonoma of maple leaves and other leaves and acorn and pumpkins. I cut those out of pie crust and put those around the sides and in the middle. It looks cute!

Anyway, I'd think $7-$8 at this time of year, easy. Can you imagine how happy you will make some people out there! That's perfect timing for a bake sale in my mind. (Christmas would be great too, hmmm, a small fundraising idea...)
Atthe MOMS group bake sale that we do during the Church Craft Show we usually price our pies at $6. We also always sell out of the half dozen or so that are made.
$8 - it's for a good cause. People should be willing to pitch in and help, not look for a bargain. If they want a cheap pie, they can get one at the grocers! Don't under price and cheat the kids. IF (and that's a big if) it's not sold half way thru the sale, then mark it down a bit, but not until.
For a sale at school, this idea might not work, but our Girl Scout troop had a bake sale this past Sat. and we raised over $275.00!!!
IT WAS ALL BY DONATION! No prices-just donations. People were so generous-some giving $5. for a single cookie. Of course there were a couple of people who donated $3.00 and took 2 loaves of bread , but seriously, most donated way more than what they took. It ran for 4 hours at a local video store. It was our best fund raiser ever! And to top it off, the money is going to buy gifts for children at the Children's Center at Albany Medical Center. Two of the girls in our troop have been there for several medical tests and the whole fund raiser was their idea (they are both 8-yrs-old).
I would price them between $6 & $8 especially with the pretty leaves. May I also suggest that you make one and cut it in half for those that live alone and would love to have a homemade treat & can't afford or eat a whole pie.
We just did this for a fundraiser yesterday. We took orders about a month ago and made them all yesterday and sold them for $8 each. Almost 200 pies baked!!
We usually do donations at our church sale, but we did set prices for one event and set it at $5 for a pumpkin pie.
I just paid $10 for an apple pie for a fundraiser. Our friend's daughter will be dancing at Disney World in January, so we didn't mind helping her out with that fundraiser at all. And the pie was great!
My husband does a bake sales at work to benefit foster kids for Christmas. They charge $20 per pie. I can't believe they get that much. Every bake sale I have to bake at least 2 apple pies, other ladies bake other types of pies. Talk about pressure, I'm always worried the people won't like the pies but as I said they ask for them every time.
