Even though I told friends about the inexpensive flights out of BUF, they would like to drive.

Does anyone have any idea (or could direct me to a web site that could help out) how much gas would cost from Toronto to Disney return trip. They have a newish 6L truck that is a quad cab?

Thank you

We drive from T.O. to Florida and it works well for our family for many different reasons. I use the AAA Fuel Cost Calculator to guestimate gas cost. Sorry I can't put the link, the site won't let me. Maybe because I am a newbie. Just google it and it is really easy. It takes into account your car type and everything. It only calculates the cost in the US (we start from Buffalo).

You can probably ball park the price. It is about 1240 miles (sorry not a metric guy! :) ) to Disney from Niagara Falls so 1240 X 2 (return) divided by about 15 MPG for the truck = about 166 gallons of gas times roughly $3.80 a US gallon = about $680 . That doesn't factor in a hotel for sleeping if they are not going to drive there without stopping.

Thanks so much for all the info. This is exactly what my friend is looking for.

since it is a V6, I would go with closer to 25 MPG on the highway, so closer to 100 gallons. Going rate for reg unlead is about $3.30/g, as per gas buddy ($3.50 for super), so around $330 US for gas. Add accomodations and around $10 for tolls. We pre-book our hotels, and usually get a nice place for about $60/nt. We drove down in November, with a newer V6 SUV (at $3.00/g) and it cost us a shade over $300, but we have another 65-80 miles each way

He said 6L which I took as a 6 litre motor, which would be a V8. Either way they get an idea of the range of price.

I think you are correct.
There is a big difference between the gas consumption of a 6L V8 and a smaller V6.

Anyone know if there is a calculator like that for Canada travel?? We're driving from Toronto to Lunenburg NS this summer and it would be nice to know how much we are looking at for gas.
We are driving our 2001 MPV (Most Painful Vehicle) Wondering if we might be better off to rent something to drive down as it has crummy gas mileage!

We just drove from Barrie to WDW in our new Ford F150 pick up. 8 cyl. it cost us about 250 dollars one way and we spent the night at a Best Western for about 80 dollars. the total trip was about 500 dollars return for gas and was alot more affordable than 3 airline tickets and pass ports and car rental or limo to the resort (that can be 150 to 200 dollars). Yeah it took an extra 2 days in total but I had the time off to do it. so well worth the price.

The hotel stay down was less than half the cost the car rental would have been.

It cost me approximately $600.00 dollars for gas with a rental van in Jan 2008 for the two way trip.

My 2002 Protege got me round trip Toronto to Orlando and two weeks there for $260.

5, 457kms total
