How much tip for mousekeeping????

Why do you even need to tip? Since the mousekeepers are salried. I've never tipped a hotel's housekeeping unless there is physically an envelope that the hotel provides. Then you know that thier job is a tipped based position when they provide that to you. You pay enough as it is for the hotel per night, your housekeeping is included in that charge. Think back to the 70's, did your parents ever tip hotel housekeeping? No.......
I don't think you have to worry about it at all, but if you want to do it, great!

I feel this way about some of the places I now see tip jars. I don't tip the guy in the mall at Mrs. Field's when I buy my son a cookie - or the local kids at the ice cream store. I also don't feel like those kids are treating their job as a career. (Or essentially forced into one of a few options for their career.) I do occasionally do the Starbucks folks after I order some wacky non-fat soy, shake it over your head, pour it into three cups & hold the foam concoction

Personally for us it just "feels right". As for the 70s my dad always tipped everyone but the housekeeping staff, you're right, but not because he made the decision not to, he just didn't think of it. He would not have begrudged them the extra $3, though.
