how much time to plan

ok we are a family of 6. we want to plan on wdw in sept 2004. how soon should i book air line ect. what is a good price? what do you think? im confused on how much money its going to cost me, what do you usually spend?

Watch airfares and as soon as you see a price you are happy with buy the tickets. I'm sure someone from your area can give you a good idea what typical prices are. I know we have paid anywhere from $300 - $125 a ticket in the past. I have seen airfares as cheap as $99 roundtrip but we fly out of the Cleveland, OH airport.

As for your hotel ~ book a room now! Just make sure you can cancel it when you find a better deal Hotel deals usually don't come out until closer to your date of travel, but keep your eyes open.

You can spend $3000 or $10,000 for your trip to Disney, now since you are posting on the budget board I'll assume you don't want to spend $10,000! Book everything yourself and avoid packages. Some figures we use to budget are $100/day for food & stuff, $100/night for a hotel, $200/per person for plane tickets, $125 for airport transfer (includes tip), plus park Hoppers (which vary in price depending on which you buy). All if you are parking at your airport don't forget to figure in long term parking.
