Is it doable to eat dinner at Coral Reef at 7:15 and be done in time to watch Illuminations at 9?
Our one-day touring plan will be to hit Future World at EMH rope drop, tour Future World, head back to the cabins for lunch and rest, and head back to hit up Norway and the American Adventure before dinner.
Does this sound possible?
Thanks!

As long as you were seated on time (or close to it). I have found service pretty quick at Disney restaurants, usually in and out in about an hour (drink, dinner, dessert, no apps). I know others have said they have gotten bad service and ignored, which is always a possibility, but not the norm.

The last time we went to Coral Reef it took 2 hours. And in all the times we have been there we have never been seated right at our ADR time - it is always 15 minutes or so later.

On the other hand, the last time we went to California Grill they had us dine at warp speed so we were finished in about 50 minutes.

It really just depends.

We always tell our server when s/he comes to take our drink order that we want to be done by a certain time and we've always been accommodated with quick service. But I agree with PP that if you aren't seated by 7:20 pm you may be pushing it for Illuminations. Good luck!

You may get out on time to catch it, but I don't think you would find a front row spot along the railing if that is important to you.

Coral Reef is well known for seating behind on their ADR times. Combine that with their consistently slow service once seated, I wouldn't count on making it.
