How much time should we allot for traffic?

We're staying at Coronado Springs Resort but two of our days we'll be driving to Universal/IOA. How much time should we allot for Orlando traffic to be able to get to the parks at their opening? Should we leave at 8:00 if the parks open at 9:00? Thanks in advance! We're going to be renting a car for those two days that we're commuting from Disney to Universal.

Last september, we went from WL to US and IOA, took no more than 30 minutes, traffic wasn't bad as you're not on I-4 for long.

If you want to be there at opening an hour should be plenty of time.

We used Mears to get us from the WL to IOA, and I don't think it took more that 1/2 an hour. If you allow 1 hour, you should have plenty of time, maybe allow a bit more if you need to purchase your park tickets at the gate.
