How much time should I allow for activating AP vouchers?

I'm buying 8 APs online using the monthly payment method. We are taking a day trip on December 4th to Magic Kingdom and will be activating our vouchers then. We want to be inside the park by 8:30.

We have a 2.75 hour drive. We're driving up that morning.

How long is it going to take to get our APs?

Do we need to activate at the ticket window at the TTC or can we do it at guest services outside of the MK?

The windows directly outside of MK can help you the same as the TTC ticket windows can. If you're driving and going through TTC anyway, I'd stop there, because there's way more CMs working there - I think they have like 40 windows? But, there could be a long wait at either place, so your mileage may vary.

For the quickest possible transaction, make sure to have ID readily available for everyone over the age of 18, and proof of FL residency if someone doesn't have a FL ID. (Since you mentioned using the MPP, I assume you're getting FL passes.) Also, printing the e-certs with Goofy (I think it's still Goofy for new passes) on them or having the PDFs readily available on a smartphone helps speed things up.

Note: If you receive a 404 error when trying to access the PDF with the e-certs, send a mental thank-you note to Disney IT and hope you get a ticketing CM who's been trained on how to circumvent that error. I don't know if it's still been going on since I've been on medical leave for a short while now, but it was kind of an annoying issue back in late October.

So should I expect it to take like 30 minutes? Not including waiting in line...

How early are those ticket windows open?

I'm hesitant to offer a precise time guess because I've never timed myself doing a transaction for that many people, but if all goes well, 30 minutes is probably a long estimate.

TTC ticketing CMs are scheduled to show up as early as 6:30am with windows starting to open around 7 - even earlier when MK has holiday hours, but I don't think that'll apply on Dec 4. I don't know the hours for the windows right by the park, but they should be pretty early as well. They have to be ready to assist people who are showing up for pre-park-opening breakfasts. :)

I activated 4 in just over 5 minutes at Downtown Disney once I got to a rep. As long as they know what they're doing and you have all papers ready I would suspect it shouldn't be much more than 10 minutes once you get to the window. (We had also already linked all the tickets to the bands though MDE which saved a step at the window).

We won't have magicbands yet, we'll have already linked the vouchers to our MDE account before then to make FP+ . Will we have to change anything after we have our actual AP in hand?

My two AP's took about 10-15 minutes to activate at TTC. They were having computer issues though.

You shouldn't have to change anything once your passes are in hand. If you want to buy MBs you can do so in the park and they can activate them for you. Otherwise you get the credit card like tickets until you order the basic MBs once back home.

I've activated mine at MK and at Epcot. Took me at least 45 min at MK but it was about 9:30 am, took me about 3 min at Epcot at around 3:30 in the afternoon.

I figure that if we are there by 8 or a little sooner we shouldn't have to wait in any kind of line.

I just don't know if I can get my husband and 8 kids out of the house sooner than 5am. Lol
