How Much Time Passed Before You Married...

This was inspired by the "What time of year did you marry" thread.

Personally, I met my x-wife in June of 1971, was engaged by October 1971 and married in January 1972. Just a little over 6 months from meeting to marriage.

It only lasted 29 years so I guess they were right about short engagements not working out.

I met DH in JH, when I was 12. We started dating right out of college, and married 6 years later. We had a 6 month engagement, and our first child was born 26 month after our wedding - we dated so long, went on lots of vacations, etc., we were ready. We've been married almost 14 years.

So, 11 months from first date to marriage. It will be 10 years this September, and our marriage is stronger than ever.

My husband and I met in March, 1999. We were engaged on March 18, 2000. We were married on September 2, 2000. Now married almost 9 years!!

We still celebrate our anniversary of our first date more than our wedding anniv. I think it's more important how long we have been together...
