How much time do you usually spend at a waterpark?

Whether you choose TL or BB, how much of your day is usually spent there? Do you get there at opening and stay till close or do you leave earlier?

I plan to get there at opening and stay till around 2 or 3, unless that is not a good idea...? Should I allow for a longer stay?

By the way, I have two teens that will most likely do all of the slides while I float down the river (or whatever they call it) in an innertube.

I usually arrive around 11 am and stay until I've had enough sun. With teens it's probably safe to plan on staying all day, leaving around 3 or 4 p.m., depending on the weather while you're there.

I keep water park days pretty flexible, using them as a break from the theme parks. So it's a day to sleep in, enjoy the water park all afternoon, and then plan something relaxing for the evening.

My BF and I did about half days at the parks...we hit AK in the morning, and then went to BB in the afternoon...it worked out well and neither park was crowded!

We usually spend a half day, around 4 hours or so. We like to either go at opening and leave in time to go have a late lunch someplace else, or go in the late afternoon and stay until closing. Lots of people seem to go early and leave around 2pm, so the late afternoon/early evening is usually pretty nice as far as crowds go.

:D

I usually get there as the park is about to open and stay until early afternoon, between 12 and 1. I love the water parks, but I need as much time as possible in the theme parks.

We're the same -with older teens, generally get there around opening-stay until 2-3 then have late lunch at Rainforest cafe DTD.

When we went to BB our last day we were there until 2:00pm only because a terrible storm was rolling in, but if that storm didn't come we would of stayed the whole day.

We took our 4yr old for the first time to a waterpark and she was having the best time. She was doing so many more things than we anticipated her to do that we were sad to leave:mad: But, that's how it goes in Florida - those afternoon showers or storms.

Last time I went, I also did a half day at AK and then headed on over to TL around 1:30 in the afternoon. I stayed until around 4:00 and truly felt as though I didn't have enough time there. I rode the lazy river one full time and then began the 2nd trip around by getting off at the various stops and riding the other slides as I approached then hoping back on an innertube and rafting around to my next stop. I had a ton of fun but learned that 3 1/2 hours wasn't enough for me.

As stated by a poster above, I now know that my day at a waterpark is a day away from the theme parks, a day to wake up a little later and a day to enjoy the water. It was a blast and I will probably set aside a whole day next time to be there (10:30 to around 4:00).

I've only ever been to TL one time. We stayed about 3 hours. It was fun, but that was plenty for me.

BB has way more water slides, it is the reason we go to WDW rather than DL. I would plan to stay most of the day, at least until 3. They just can't seem to get enough of those water slides. We are going on our first day there after taking the red-eye from Oregon, stay as long as we can, then check in to our room and crash.

It would depend on my pass as to how much time I would spend there. If I had a UPH or PAP I would go in the morning at 10am and stay till about 2pm or so, and then go to another park for dinner and fireworks. If I was using a plus on a park hopper I would go and most likely stay all day and then head to downtown disney later to fill out the rest of the day without using up a park day for only a few hours.

......during busier times (like June, July & August), the water parks can reach capacity crowds before noon......to where they don't allow anyone else in. Blizzard Beach (being the smaller of the two) tends to "close it's gates" earlier than Typhoon Lagoon. So, it depends on when you'll be down there. If you do some other morning activity and arrive at the water parks later, you risk the possibility of being turned away due to capacity crowds.

We'll be there in June (with our PH+) and are planning one day at Blizzard Beach......arriving when it opens and staying till 4 or 5 (or until the storms roll in.......or until we've all had our "fill"). Then, back to the room to clean up for a nice supper at 'Ohana, then down to the beach to watch the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes.
3 days later, we'll do the exact same thing at Typhoon Lagoon......heading back to the room to get ready for the 8 PM Luau.
If we "tire" of the water parks early enough, it'll leave room for a round (or two) of miniature golf.
