OK as the title says, "How much time do you spend planning your trip to Disney World?"

I know I have gone a little overboard. I spend around 3 hours a day (or maybe longer:rolleyes1 ) online and reading Disney books. I have no children and my boyfriend and I work on different schedules so there is a lot of time at home alone. But sometimes I think I am spending around 3 hours of planning for every one hour I am going to be there! Boyfriend thinks its silly but doesnt mention it unless I start dragging him into the madness.

So how about you? Are you in the car daydreaming? Do you stop at walmart to get a new journal so you can keep all your tips in it (along with a new pen too)? Are you putting on your make-up and remember something else you have to pack (even though its more than a few months away) and rush to write it down and leave the house with only one eye done? Whats your dirty little secrets? Come on share! We all do it! popcorn::

HA HA ! Funny post!

MONTHS AND MONTHS is my answer! The thing is...as soon as I am back from one trip...I start on another!

My last trip, I planned a trip for 24 people from my church (Night of Joy in September). HOW AWESOME, right? When I was a teacher, I would take 150 5th graders! I NEVER EVER EVER get tired of planning!

I feel I do some little bit of "planning" at least every day. And my trip is next July! I can't help it - I'm just so excited. Next summer will be our first trip as DVC members and I just can't wait!!

It'll be myself, DH, my parents and my 83 yr old grandmother. They are all excited and I'm constantly thinking of ideas of activities for all of us, which restaurants would they really like, what of our faves do we want to show the family....etc, etc. And since I found the Disboards at the end of the summer, I'm definitely spending more time planning than I ever have! More planning than when we went to WDW on our honeymoon six years ago!:rotfl:

Amen!!! We haven't even gone on this trip but since all the major planning is done...i'm already thinking about when I want to take our next one.

I'm on these boards at least a couple of hours a night...I can't get enough of them.

Way to much

I look on the disboards at least twice a day see what people have written, to see if there is any announcement of the Pirate and Princess party, and if any codes are available yet.

Oh yeah, I do daydream and go through each day's plan. DD must think I am crazy because each time we speak I have something new to tell her.

I have DH looking at least once a day now. We have two computers in our home and we will both be looking and he will say "hey did you read that"

I spend way too much time LOL. I haven't been before and don't want to miss anything!

I do travel a lot and I mean a lot in january i have 3 trips planned ( disney, las vegas, and new york) so when ever i have free time i am either on the computer, or watching the travel channel, or reading a planning book)

so i am always planning something

Offical Planning Time: 4-5 Hours a Day

Actual Planning Time: 24 Hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year

Oh, PLEASE!!! Way too much I'm sure!

I read the DIS constantly. I keep notes. I made spreadsheets, ordered the customized maps, marked my calendar for the 180 days to make ADRs, we even have a countdown going, since March! I have all the guide books. I joined TGM. I have the touring plans. You name it!

I'm always afraid I'll forget SOMETHING!!!

Its amazing the more you read the more you realise what you don't know. I thought I knew plenty when I booked this time round but after joining DIS I realise I knew exactly nothing. So I have been playing ctach up ever since, will know better next time and do more, more, more.

Over a period of 8 months...I have been hot and cold on planning and rearranging my plans for while we are in Disney! I still feel overwhelmed! My friend and I have, what seems to be, almost weekly meetings to discuss and work on my plans! Well, now I am in the final stages...we leave on Sunday, but we haven't been workingon it much lately...but I mailed my package via UPS today with diapers, wipes, apple juice, extra sippy cups, and my baby's favorite snacks! I am so excited to get there and start enjoying what I have been planning all year long!:cool1:

I think that each time I go I know more than before and keep trying to fit everything in. But this time have realized that we also need some "down time" after all it is vacation and we should relax some. The crazy thing is that I am already planning out things for our visit April13-20, 2008!! I find myself unable to fall alseep at night planning things out in my head! I can't wait until April!

This is why I love the DISboards. My husband thinks I am nuts with all the planning, we are not going until July. I generally plan at least a couple hours a day, I drive him nuts but he knows it is worth it in the end. It's nice to know that there other people just as crazy about Disney as you are.:goodvibes

Holy crap.. Wow, I'd hate to think how much time I've spent reading / planning / ressing.. etc since June when my wife and I decided to go. I do all the planning for us and she just goes along for the ride (yea, kinda backwards I know :) )

I have found my self planning more and more as I realize I know less and less. I know it will make a difference when we get there, but I fell a little obsessed at this point.

But that ain't gonna stop me!:rolleyes1

It's a never-ending planning session with me. We have been lucky to schedule 9 trips in less than two years (and we live 800 miles away).

So I am constantly planning on more than one trip at the same time. We just returned 4 days ago, and I found out unexpectedly that I will be attending a conference in Orlando the first week in November. So those plans have begun for the late afternoons and nights. Of course, I am limited on dining, but it looks like I will get to attend the Halloween party twice this year.

This one will be fun because I am taking along someone who hasn't been there in 25 years...

I'm not sure how much actual planning I do each day, but I think about it and read the DIS several times a day. We're going in August, 2008. I won't think about actual itinerary items until we get closer to the 180 day ADR window.

my friends, BF and I are going to wdw in May of next year along with my mom dad and sister. we ALL started planning in May of this year (with help from my mom of course!) BF never says that I get annoying with it. . .My friends however are a different story!
