How much time do you spend in the Water Parks?

I was planning on taking some time out for TL, how much time do you spend there? Our kids are 9, 6 and 2 so we won't be up for EVERYTHING they offer.

Half a day- four to five hours. We always get to the water park when it opens and stay until about one to two pm and then we head back to the resort to recoup for the evening.

We always end up staying all day even when the kids were those ages. We say we are leaving earlier but then the crowds leave and everyone wants to go on one more slide because the lines are gone!

Depends on how much everyone loves the waterpark rides, temperature, rain and what ever else we want to get to that particular vacation.....usually one day tops.

We do EMH ( Reg parks) until about 11:00 or 12:00 then head to resort or Water park everyday.Then we head back to the parks for the night.As we go most of the time in June this helps with the crowds and cools us down from the heat.

Last vacation, we went twice. Once for a 1/2 day at BB after AK, and once a whole day at TL.

You don't have to spend that much money. If you're going to eat there, the prices are really similar to the fast food counters at the other parks...and typical grill type food. I'm not sure if you can bring food into the parks....

We spent money on the extras. DD got her hair wrapped--I think it was close to $60. (yikes!) DD and DS both wanted tatoos--this depends on the size of the tattoo--but I think average might be around $15 - $20. You can also get your picture taken everywhere and then stop at the photo stop as you leave and they'll print them up for you. These are great action pics and wonderful memories! We always try to get one with all of us on the family float ride...the big innertube. (Note--the family float ride at BB is WAAAAY better than the one at TL).

I never took a 2 year old there--so I really can't say. But when my kids were 5 and 7, and then last year when they were 7 & 9, they never get tired of this place and never want to leave.

We usually go twice a trip - at opening, until about 2.30-ish...back to the room to nap, and out for the evening.

This time we'll be doing it 3 times.

We always spend one or two mornings there ... from opening, until lunchtime. By then, it becomes nuts. The lines for the best slides are loooong, and it's not very restful.

But the first couple hours are bliss

Tip: if you can, visit early in the week. People customarily spend Sunday-Wednesday hitting the Big Four parks, and leave the water parks for later. During our last trip, we visited once on a Monday, and then on a Friday -- and the difference WAS noticeable!

We usually only fit one waterpark in for about a half a day. However, we usually go in October which is not always the best weather for a waterpark. This trip I think we are going to go to both waterparks for a half a day each since we are going 2 weeks earlier.

We spent all day there, there were 10 of us at the time including DNece's 9 & 7 DD 4 & DS 3 all had a great time we mainly stayed together as well as wandering around to all the different slides.

Here's another, that was passed on by a cast member: hit the water parks after one of the big afternoon thunderstorms. The parks clear out, and once the storm has passed, you can have the place virtually to yourself! (I've never tried it, but some CMs swear it's true...)

Others recommend trying the parks later in the day -- say, the last couple hours before closing. The crowds have often thinned out by then. Or so I've heard.

We usually go around opening time and leave no later than 3:00. The wave pool really sucks us in.

Believe it or not--in all our trips, we've NEVER been to any of the water parks!!

On our most recent trip last March, we spent two full days of our seven day vacation at the waterparks. The weather was perfect and the entire family had a blast! My husband is not a huge fan of the parks, but I found that he was happy to spend all day at the waterparks. There is plenty of exciting things to do at the waterparks, but there is plenty of "downtime" too. My husband enjoyed sitting in a lounge chair under a shade tree when he wasn't on one of the slides. Don't forget to wear lots and lots of sunscreen!
