Like others, we still go to the parks every day, but just not for as long. DH plays golf somedays and sometimes I ride along, so those tend to be short days in the parks. We are first time AP holders and will get three trips on them (DH said "Why not?" and I didn't disagree!!). And we've still have stuff we haven't done and want to try.

I voted 25 - 50%. We like to spend one day at the resort(s) and another at DTD. This trip we also visited colleges so we only spent 3 days at the parks which was plenty. Annmari

We buy AP's but do not get our money's worth by any means. We were there 6 nights last month, 2 days no parks, and the other 4 consisted of about 2 hours each day. That is getting to be the norm for us. But DH refuses to give them up for a year or two because he likes to walk around World Showcase, and we sometimes just go into a park to grab a bite to eat and then leave. A day off a PH just for a burger would be $$$$ for the two of us. One of these years we will do a cruise again on points(yes, we love that option) and skip the parks. Won't miss them a bit.

I voted 26-50% as well. We have AP's, and don't commando tour. We prefer to wander in and out, and if we don't feel like going, we do'nt. Some days we just want to sit on the balcony reading, dozing, and watching the world go by.

It's a vacation!

We go down once a year and find we spend about 25% OOT time in the parks and about 50% OOT exploring other DW resorts. We take time to stop and absorb the surroundings.
On a different note, I wonder how many of us spend a good portion of time in other parks outside of DW and use our resort as home base? I know our next trip will include SW, DC and US.

We're park junkies! We go every day of our trip and we are AP holders. We used to try and go in the morning and take a break at the room for the afternoon and then back to the parks, but I am finding that we spend the entire day and early evening at the parks now. If we are not in the parks, we are usually intransit to one. I don't get it myself....

when I use the other theme parks - I stay at other Orlando resorts (some are closer to the park that I am interested in) - I brought a cheap SA to that and it has worked well for me.

in October - we are celebrating mother's birthday - some at WDW but mostly SW - so we are staying in Hilton's Grand Vacation Club across from SW.

With APs and DVC we spend less time in the parks than we used to. Now its about half to two-thirds of our time. We generally go each day to a park, but are rarely there in the afternoons. Some evenings are at a park, some are not. Evenings at a park are generally for a dinner, fireworks, or show. More and more of our in-park time is enjoying the theming and sites we would never have taken in before. We are much less willing to wait in lines and more willing to simply move on and do something else.

We have APs and have been averaging 16 nights per year at WDW, split into 3 separate trips (two for 6 nights and one for 4 nights). We visit one park every day, sometimes together and sometimes going to different parks, although it may be for only 2 hours or so most of the time. I may go to a second park in the afternoon for another couple hours, but DW usually lounges around the pool reading, goes shopping, etc. We may return to one of the parks in the evening if that is the location of our dinner outing. We usually eat out every other night during our stays, and choose a restaurant at one of the parks about one-third of the time, going to a resort restaurant, DD, or off site the rest of the time. If I use a 10-to-12-hour day for park visits, we are probably in the 25% range. On the other hand, we do visit a park virtually every day during our stay.

I just got home from a 4 day weekend at OKW and spent a total of about an HOUR at a park. The weather was awful with rain everyday! We did a lot at DD, saw a couple of movies and played mini golf last night at Fantasia Gardens. We went to EPCOT long enough to send an e-postcard and then went over to Beaches and Cream for lunch.

Lucky for me and the rest of my friends, we are AP holders and have 2 more trips planned this year, so we don't feel like we missed anything this weekend.

We had a great time riding the monorail resort loop and stopping off and shopping and snacking at those resorts.

I need to start my NEW countdown!!!

We spend less than 1/3rd of our time due to the folllowing:

1- High cost of tickets
2- Kids are grown
3- Not much new to see ( same ol same ol)
4- Enjoy other things in the area

If Pleasure Island counts, it's about 98%. (If it doesn't I am probably in the 50% bracket somewhere.) I spend almost no time in the room. I'm usually traveling solo and hanging around the room bores me. I'll go to a water park in season, or into a theme park and wander around, eat, people watch, see a few attractions if the lines aren't bad. The extra 2% is for hanging out with friends in other areas of Orlando.
