How much time before your "going home" flight

do you need driver to pick you up from your resort (we're staying at Pop Century)?

I'm wondering if we should have the towncar driver pick us up 1 1/2 hours before our return flight leaving from the Orlando airport when our trip is over, or if we should be more conservative (2 hours)? ...or MORE? :(

We want to milk all that last day Disney time that we can!

I would go with 2 hours; 1/2 hour to MCO. Then it could be anywhere
from 15 - 45 minutes to the gate, depending on airline, time of day -
impact on security checkpoint, and then the quick trip on the tram.
Just my opinion, as I don't like to feel rushed.

You are not allowing enough time. They board 1/2 hour before flight time.

You will also need to allow plenty of time to get through security especially since they have new procedures.

I would allow more time or you may be sitting for much longer in the airport because you missed the flight home.

What airline are you flying? I always fly USAir and their curbside check and counter are rarely crowded, so you can be a little more loose with time. Other airlines can be quite crowded.

I don't know which car service you're using, but so far we have always used Tiffany and every time our driver drops us off, they always tell US what time they will pick us up. That's what they do for a living and they have always been good about estimating how long it will take them to get us to the airport on time. They usually know traffic patterns, and resort to terminal times for your airline.

I always request Tiffany TC pick me up about a half hour earlier than they say is appropriate. I like to be at the airport 2 hours prior to flight time.

I'm planning on Tiffany (haven't booked them yet).

Thanks for the input!

we have always been picked up two hours before our flight times. It takes half an hour to get to the airport, then you might have to wait to get thru security. I would much rather wait at the gate area, knowing that I'm all set than be in a long line at security, watching the time for boarding come.

I thought you were supposed to ARRIVE at the airport (especially busy airports) no less than two hours prior to your flight?   Especially these days.

Some of these answers surprise me!

Yeah, the towncar company will tell you what time they will pick you up. We used quicksilver this past may and they picked us up 2 hrs and 15 mins before our flight. That's good b/c you can get stuck in traffic or long security lines, better safe than sorry!

When I called Tiffany today, they suggested a 4 pm pickup for a 6:25 flight.

Gee, I'm out of touch! I thought ONE hour was recommended (and feel that THAT's too much...):(

...but I understand that for security purposes, time is required.

You shouldn't get stuck in traffic if they take 417. I would ask what route they will be taking because that will have an impact on how long it takes to get there. I4 can be stop and go and take MUCH longer.
When ATA is using one of its stretch 757s, I have seen them start boarding almost an hour before the scheduled takeoff time.
