How much spending money do you bring?

We are probably the biggest cheapskates on here, but I am bringing $25 for souvies for myself. Hubbie has about $25. Kids all earn their own spending money through little businesses that they have, so who knows how much they'll end up with. Then, I just plan to bring enough money to cover tips for our TS meals. We are on the free dining. Last year we had more than enough food and never had to buy any OOP. We actually had over 20 snack credits left on the last day that we bought treats for the plane ride home with. My parents who are coming with us on the other hand are bringing $500 each for the week for spending. I am sure it depends on your financial situation, your spending habits, and what you want to do. Everybody is different.

We are a family of 5...one whom is only 21 mo, so she doesnt cost much extra while there. We always get the DDP and I can say we have never had to buy an extra meal while there. I know it is only 1ts and 1qs and 1 snack per day, but that is a lot of food! We always have extra snacks in end and usually a couple of qs meals too.

There is 2 of us that like breakfast and 2 that rather eat lunch, so what we usually do is go to qs for a late breakfast/early lunch just before the switch over. We stay at POR and really like their qs, so we usually eat there. Then later on in the day if we get hungry, we get a snack wit snack credit, it is so suprising at some of th great things you can get, its not all ice cream bars and a bottle of soda! And then for dinner we usually eat around 6pm give or take an hour. We never are complaining we are hungry at all.

Now, a for a budget, just strictly Disney money, not the trip there and back, we figure enough for all tips, say aprox $15 per day, then each kid is allowed about $30-50 per trip, no reason to go overboard, they usually get a shirt and something else of their choosing, dd likes to get new flip flops, ds has gotten a necklace or something small for a friend and for LO she usually gets an outfit and maybe a small toy. DH and I usually just get a shirt and then usually see what deals DTD has and the last two trips we have bought the blankets they were selling and I also got a watch. Ide say we spend about 250-300 total. Thats about it, so for our typical 7 night vacation, Ide say we take about $450-500 for tips, keepsakes and misc. And I dont think we usually spend that much.

I am budgeting our tips separately, and putting them in envelopes ahead of time. Beyond that I am bringing $50/day for spending money. We are NOT souvenier-people or drinkers and we are on the DDP.

We are a family of 4 (4&2 yr olds) and doing the QSDDP for 7 of the 10 nights we are there and budgeting for $250 per day after we pay OOP for the DDP (we are DVC and don't get to do the free one offered).

That's after we've paid for all transportation (rental car), APs, plane tix, 2 nights at CBR, RFFT entry fees, etc.

We typically come home with a fair amount but it varies. We do drink, some days more than others and the $10 beverages add up in a hurry. We eat 1-2 Signature Resturants per trip ($100-120 per meal), shop and hit the outlets malls too. We go to the Orlando Science Center sometimes as well prefer the outlet mall near there so gas, etc adds up. The kids come home with far more crap than they should but it's vacation. We get the chance to say no enough at home.

If we didn't drink and didn't shop we could do it for far less.

KimberlyE... We don't have any Disney stores locally any longer, could you tell me where I can purchase Disney Dollars. I would like to get some for the Grandkids to take to Disney so they will have to realize the cost of things and how much money they have left to spend. I don't think they would get the gift card thing, it must be a visual dollar thing. Thank You very much.
