How much spam do you get?

I just realized thats its been months since I received any unsolicited spam. I get the occasional e-mail from vendors who have web sites that I have purchased things from, but I don't get the unsolicited spam I used to get on my last e-mail account.

Happily, no one is offering me ways to enlarge or shrink certain parts of my anatomy (some of which I don't even have!), no one is offering to help me accept credit cards (why would I want to accept credit cards?), no one is offering me the chance to learn to become a private detective and (best of all) no one is offering me a link to view Susies Sinful Site of Seduction or other such porn sites (sorry Susie).

I never did get much spam. I protect my e-mail address like a hawk when I'm online and I rarely hand it out unless I know I can trust the recipiant. Still, I am amazed that I am still not getting unsolicited spam even though I have had my current e-mail account for over a year. I am very happy that I somehow avoided the spam lists, but I wonder how long this good fortune can hold out.

How about you? Do you get a lot of spam?

Gosh, I wish I could say the same. I have a special email address that i give out to web pages whenever i sign up for something and then I have the one that only friends and family have. I had to totally dump one of my email addresses due to so much spam...I was getting over 150/day. I got so much that hotmail would send me that message that I was over my limit of storage every day. I guess this is the price you pay for "free" email, but I don't have any "real" email accounts with anyone so all I can use is hotmail or yahoo.

My primary personal account? Maybe 200-300 pieces a day, but thankfully, Yahoo Mail separates maybe 90% of it into a "Bulk Mail" folder, which I empty without even looking at it. :)

Generally about 40-50 per day. A program called MailWasher takes care of most of them.

I have 2 accounts, hotmail and mac.com. The hotmail account gets TONS of spam, mac gets none :D .

Way too much. I don't mind just deleting the credit card offers and even the anatomy enlargement ads, but when I get the porn stuff, it makes me really mad.

I get about 20 a day. Mostly things that start out
DOROTHY, Wouldn't you like a bigger (I guess I better not say). Grow it 2-3 inches.

Wouldn't you think the software could do a basic check for feminine names? It was funny at first. Now it's really annoying.

Lots of Viagra ads, too.

I get a ton of it. From new cars, old cars, cell phones, enlarge this, shrink that, buy this sell this, make money loss money, Ins, Ins Ins. The list goes on and on. I do notice on weekends and holidays it slows down to nothing, I guess they (spammers) take days off!! Luckly my e-mail server removes most of it I only have to dump it from my junk file weekly.

I use yahoo, I get very little spam in the accounts I only use for specific purposes. I have one that I use for bills and all my on-line statements go there. Very little spam.

The one I use for shopping, mypoints etc received 100's of spam daily. I would change it but I'd have to deal with it anywhere so just delete it. Yahoo does make it really easy :p

My primary account gets about 30-50 a day......and that's with spam block turned on
I'm working on getting it less. It's not even the account I use to sign up for things with :(

My hotmail account only gets about 5 or 6 with spam block set at medium.

Okay my family has 5 seperate e-mail accounts. My daughter plays these on line games (kid ones like make a bear) and I think that she signed up for some Nick contests. We get tons and tons of spam. I went on vacation last week and there were over a 1000 messages in my spam killer file. The only problem is that occ. I get a message that I want that ends up in spam killer so that's a bummer.

I get about 200 spam messages per day, all sent to an email address I use for nothing else. :) My regular account gets 2 or 3 per week.

I love my yahoo Bulk Mail folder. I get over 100 pieces of spam in there per day.

hehehe, I thought you were talking about canned ham when I first read your thread title!:o
I don't get much at all. Thankfully!

I only get one or two a day. I've had the same email address for over 6 years, shop online all the time...can't explain why I'm almost spamless (but I'm NOT complaining).

I do use the AOL report spam button, which has eliminated 99% of what I used to get. Now it's mostly septic tank and Russian brides.

Pop-ups were driving me crazy until last week when I went to Panicware.com, downloaded their free software and now they are gone too.:bounce: Couldn't believe how easy it was and that it worked so well.

BWVDenise - I thought it was canned ham at first too! There's none of that in my house.:D

Like you, Don, almost none, other than from sites I have done business with and those I can unsubscibe to if I want to. I elect to receive those.

AOL blocks alot of spam....but it also blocks some valid newsletters I want to receive because it thinks it is spam.
So I get maybe 10 spam a day?

Oh, DopeysGal...re: pop-ups & AOL. Go to your settings, find the settings for pop-ups, and check off all the boxes to block all of them. I don't get any pop-ups. (Since at least versions 7 & 8 & 8+). Hope that helps.

DrCool
I use Mailwasher, I bounce the e.mails back & when they send them again they have probable against them so I am still receiving the spam. I click the bounce is there something else I should be doing.
Thanks for any help.:Pinkbounc :smooth: :bounce:
