This may be the wrong place to ask the question, but I am curious. You DISers out there, how much money do you normally set aside for you/your family for WDW souvenirs?

I have put together my family's Big Disney Budget and we have managed to put away into savings all the money we show we need on our budget. Honestly, though, souvenirs is a very large part of that budget. Before telling you the total budget and how much of it is souvenirs, I'd be curious to find out how much everyone else sets aside for souvies.......

Thanks in advance! popcorn::

The amount of money my kids take is up to them.... They earn their spending money... even the 4yr oldprincess: as they do their choirs and AOK we give them marks on a poster board each mark = $$$$... we leave in 30 days :cloud9:

The last few trips we've given each kid a max of $20 for one item. One year we gave them all exactly $20 to spend and they nickled and dimed us to death trying to find things that cost $1 and $2. Drove me crazy, so now they each get one for a max of $20. If they have other money from allowance stored up they can spend it, too, but they usually have either spent their other spending money or have it earmarked for something else.

I am doing 35 $ all I get is Chritmas ornaments. My kids bring what ever they save and Dh is not in love with WDW so he gets nothing

How much you spend is a personal decision and no one person is going to have the "right" answer. Perhaps this is once in a lifetime vaca for you and your family and you by gosh want your house decked out in Mickey memorabilia from head to toe by the end. That is a choice. I love WDW but I dont' need Mickey in every corner. I usually buy one decorative item for the household and one clothing item per person. This process may not suit your needs, but I am a world traveler and don't need 20 souvies from one WDW trip. Before you buy anything in WDW ask yourself what will you do with it when you get home.

When you are shopping at the hundreds of souvie shops use a critical eye as to where it will go when you are home. Sure you can still be spontaneous and buy Mickey Ears for your family even though they will collect dust, but be a little more critical if you are staring down 10 snow globes in EPCOT. ;-)

My kids got $50 each. I was shocked they didn't really want anything. I think I ended up buying a tshirt for each. They wanted to ride and see characters

now I limit myself to 1 souvie a yr unless it is red tag then that si a different story :thumbsup2:cloud9:

I normally bring $200 a day. That is for tips (We do the dining plan) souvinersfor me, dh, and dd, extra drinks, snacks, etc. Normally we end up with extra at the end of the day, but I would rather go over than under
