This is the first year we are going and I don't know what to expect. I am wondering if there are just a few flakes in the air for ambiance or is there a lot where it hits the ground? Also, about how cold will it be? We are going on 11/29/05 :hyper: . Thank you for any insight.

The "snow" is actually a special effects fluid, akin to soap bubbles. The snow itself isn't cold, nor does it have a similar texture to snow. It just lands and clings to people like bubbles, so it never really builds up on the ground. (A good thing to, it can make the ground quite slippery. I found out the hard way.) Still, there is something magical about seeing it float through the air in the Happiest Place on Earth. :goodvibes

Think light flurries. It is still lots of fun to see. I grew up with snow..and now the only snow I see is at WDW..lol. Well, I take that back..I love the sledding hill at universal..lol.

Thanks, DH was asking last night and I didn't know. I lived in Indiana for a few years and experienced real snow, but my DD and DS have only seen it once so I was wondering what to expect and what type of clothing to bring. Sounds like we would just need to prepare for normal weather. Can't wait to go  (but still have to wait anyway!). Thank you for the information.

Hi Lyn5.

We are also going to MVMCP on 11/29. :) We live in Alabama, so we don't see much snow here either :sunny:

I will be the person with two happy kids :goodvibes and a tired DH. :rotfl:

We were at disney the same week last year, from Nov. 29 to Dec. 5. We wore shorts or capris and short sleeved shirts everyday except one. That day we wore jeans and a light jacket, but I took the jacket off in the afternoon and only needed in the morning and evening. Hope you have the same weather we did, it was great and didn't rain at all! Have fun!

Thanks. I am sure we will...the only thing I am not looking forward to is our plane ride, but I believe it will be worth it. Now, the hardest part is waiting to go...uhhhhhh!

Last year on Jan 1 and 2 we wore shorts, t-shirts and went swimming at BB. The year before at Christmas time, we had to wear sweatshirts and jeans to the Christmas Party. So layer your clothes, bring along some shorts and some pants/slacks/sweatpants/jeans.

Where exactly is the snow during MVMCP - does it snow through the whole party or just at certain times - don't want to miss it :)

Thanks,
Tammy

Another family from Alabama who will be there on 11/29/05. Last year we were there in early December with sweatshirts on and it was hot - LOL. This year I can't decide between sweatshirts or t-shirts. I like for us to wear matching/coordinating outfits. DH thinks I am nuts. Last year we used a picture taken at MVMCP for our christmas card. pirate: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

When we attended MVMCP last year, it was chilly. I had on a fleece shirt over a t-shirt and gloves. My nose was cold. I lived in Missouri most of my life, so I know cold. I wouldn't have wanted to be in shorts!

It does seem to vary quite a bit. There are parts that have just a light falling and then there are areas that seem to have a massive blizzard. They are never constant either so it could change during the night. If everything is working right, the amount should be enough to give the feel of it snowing but not hard enough to cover you when you walk through it.
