How much snow have you got?

It's only just started here and we have 1/2 an Inch already.

It only started here earlier but it's starting to settle. They closed my school today (I'm a teacher) and it's my day off.

Had about 5inches overnight. All schools and colleges are closed until the update on thursday.

We woke up to about 7 inches this morning and had to dig the car out- it was horrendous getting to work and DD to school - only to find out the school was closed so she had to go to work with me instead. I ended up finishing at 1.00 so I could get home as it snowed continuously all morning.
It was my first day back as well since 18th Dec.
Im unsure what it will be like tomorrow as the roads are still bad and it is now freezing

We woke up to snow but wasn't too bad, but it snowed and snowed and snowed all morning! Our school shut at 1, I stayed till 3 as i live close by, then left my car in the carpark, just too dangerous to drive here. It's still snowing now!

We've got about 7 to 8 inches of snow here. It's been a very crazy day!

Walked to work this morning, with my wellies on and all wrapped up, it literally was like a work-out the snow was that deep! Got there okay only to be sent home around 2pm as the snow had started quite bad again!

Don't know what's happening tomorrow, I suppose it depends over night!

about 6 inchs, DD school was closed this morning, I don't think she has ever seen so much snow before. Still coming down tonight so will see if school is open tomorrow. The roads near Man airport with creepy quiet at 9.00 this morning.

I am dreading having to try and get to work tomorrow - and my boss has made it fairly clear that I will be expected to try and get in. My only saving grace will be if they close the schools.

Are you able to walk to work then Joh, I think its very unfair if your boss expects you to drive when its really bad !!

No, Jules, it's a 50 mile round trip

My boss lives less than 500 yds from work so it's easy for her to underestimate the difficulty I have getting to work in this weather

I hope they shut Daniels school so you don't even have to attempt it.

Not much here at all in Prestatyn, although as soon as you go inland they have plenty ... 5 miles away they are snowed in. We had a brief flurry round about lunchtime which closed the schools, but it was almost gone within the hour and the roads were clear throughout. We never get heavy snow. So just for me, can everyone post photos of the snow .....

We are expected to take annual leave if we dont get in which is really annoying

Am in Windsor at my mums house and it's only been snowing about 30 mins, but it's coming down heavily now. There's one thing to being unemployed, I can go out in the snow tomorrow - yippee

We've had about 3 inches now and thats in a couple of hours. Should be fun tomorrow. I've already primed my brother to pick me up in his 4 x 4 in the morning.

Everyone seems to have got loads today while we have only had a few small showers. Although we do still have HEAPS of snow, probably over a foot in my garden and the roads are just hard packed with snow and ice that has been here since before xmas.

Our schools aren't back until next week so we don't have to worry about them being closed. Luckily the kids are enjoying it and they all have ski trousers, jackets, gloves, goggles etc so they have been out playing/sledging so I have hardly seen them

keep safe everyone and if your job is not one of an emergency service I would just sit tight at home, after all thats the message the police are gibing out
