How much sleep do you get?

I usually get 5 hours. It's not enough, but not much choice. I am up at 3:10, to work by 5 am, off work at 5pm and home with twin dd (15) and ds (2 1/2) and don't get in bed until about 10- 10:30. Monday thru Friday, some Sat.

SLEEP??? :confused3 Whats that????

My ds is two still gets up every night usually 20 minutes and that is it. But now we have 2 year molars coming in and I am lucky to be up with himonly 2 hours at night! I swear he has a camera on my bed and just as I nod off he screams and wakes up  . But I guess on the average I get about 5- 6 hours asleep. About once a week I turn in about 8PM to make up for lost sleep

I usually get 8 hours and if I don't I am cranky. It is not a restful uninterrupted 8 hours, a lot of getting up and going to the bathroom during the night. I don't drink caffeine after 12 or I'm up all night!

I used to sleep between 6-8 hours at the most when I was working full time (and then slept a little extra on weekends.)

Since I have been staying at home I have slept more because I am not tied to a schedule. Usually lights out by 11pm and up between 7-8, so 8-9 hours. I honestly think part of that is because I really don't enjoy being a SAHM and I am a bit depressed....nothing serious....maybe more like unfulfilled than depressed.

Dawn

I usually get to bed between 10:30 and 11:30 and get up at 4:30. I work four days a week, 10 hour days. By day three I am exhausted and by day four I am usually nauseated for about 30-45 minutes after I get up. I know it's not nearly enough; my body tells me it's not. But that's what I get. On weekends I try to catch up and will often sleep 8-9 hours.

Normally I get about 6½-7 hours. I fall asleep just about 11 (probably 5 nights a week) and I'm up every day by 6:35, no matter what I do. Last night I shocked myself, I went to lay down with a headache right after the kids went up to read. I'm glad I kissed them goodnight, because I didn't wake up until 8 am! I slept for 12 hours! I haven't done that since I don't know when.

I usually get 5.5-7 hrs during the week. Can't fall asleep until 12pm - 1:30am and then up at 7am. Ocassionally, if I have a deadline at work, been know to stay up 'till 2-3am.

I always say, once you have kids you learn how little sleep you can survive on! If I go too many nights on the 5.5hr side though, I've been know to take a Tylenol PM to help me crash at 10pm. I'm naturally a night owl, so the later it is in the night, the more awake I seem to be!

I need about 4-5 hours to operate on a semi-trust-able level (changing a diaper or feeding the baby level) ...
6-7 is optimal for regular daily tasks (driving, shopping, business)
anything over that is either = when I'm sick OR on those rare occasions that I have nothing better to do.

My step-mother (rest her soul) lived on 1.5-2 hours per night for the last 20 or so years of her life & she was fine with it ... no naps either ...
imagina all the things you could get done with all that time ... :yay:

Definitely not enough! I usually go to be between 11:30 and 12:00 and have to be up at 5:45. If I can't fall asleep I'll usually take benadryl. It does not me out pretty quickly but can also leave me feeling "draggy" during the day.

Sleep? I don't think I even remember what that is!:joker: My kids are small (4.5, 3, 17 months and one on the way) They all seem to be sleeping great lately which is awesome- the only problem is that I have insomnia, nightmares, and wake up a million times a night.:sad2: I haven't been a good sleeper since about jr. Hs. On average I get about 4-5 hours a night combined.princess:

Wow! I am really surprised that only one person so far gets 8 hours a night! I watched a TV report about lack of sleep but I really thought it was overblown. Guess not!

When DS was little and never slept (until he was 5 he was up a few times a night and then fully awake at 6:00 or 6:30, sometimes earlier) I still got 6 to 7 hours because I went to bed with him at 8:30 or 9:00. When he started sleeping until 7:00 I would make sure to be in bed by 11:00 to get my 8 hours. I just really don't function well without it. I work out 5 or more days a week and drag and do badly without it.

Now that I teach I go to bed by 10:00 so I can get up at 6:00. I shower at night so I can be ready in a few minutes and out the door by 6:40. On the weekends I've been known to sleep 10 hours though I do have periods of waking up and not being able to fall back asleep. I'm just stubborn and refuse to get up! Eventually I fall back asleep and usually that 2-3 hours is the best sleep I get all week.

During the week, about 8 hours
Weekends, 10-12 hours ~ I have a heavening hubby! S
