How much tax are add on meals in california ?
And how much on merchandise ( DL ) ?

The sales tax on purchases in Orange County (wear Disneyland is located) is 7.75% and I believe food is taxed the same way.

Yep, pretty sure it's 7.75%. It varies from county to county, but it is usually right around 8%

LA is 8.25% but that is like a few miles North East...

Gas in OC is cheaper than LA too so make sure you pump up before you go anywhere...

If you have a Costco membership and can find a Costco gas station they tend to be the cheapest in price for gas.

I live on the border of Orange County and LA County and to shop at my favorite Target I have to pay 8.25% in sales tax

Reminds me of when DH went into a "Everything $10" store in Las Vegas whilst visiting for a conference, first visit to the US. The mug he purchased had a price of $10. Being used to the tax being included, he handed over a $10 note, and was rather curtly reminded "plus tax"

but you HAVE to use your AMEX. some of the credits i know give like 5% rebates and such so its worth just gasing anywhere close. Well, if you plan to go to the Disney character outlet store, the costco just a bit north just built a gas station not long ago. perhaps its worth going there too.

No you don't have to use a AMEX card - I don't have one. I use my debit card from my bank which is Wells Fargo. I input my membership card (you do have to have a membership at Costco) and my debit card with pin number and I pump gas.

Arco doesn't take credit cards. You can use cash or debit cards, but they charge you something like $0.45 - $0.55 per transaction.

That Costco is in Fullerton on Harbor Blvd. I believe it is north of the Disney Character store - not to far away.
