How much of the 2 parks can you see in 1 day?

I was excited to see that you can get a 2 park/ 1 day ticket but I'm wondering if you can get a lot done in that amount of time. It will be my husband and myself plus a 14 yr old and 10 yr old. We like the thrill rides. Can you at least hit all of the highlights if you go steadily from opening to closing? We hope to be going at the end of May or beginning of June. Thanks!:D

I did both parks in one day BUT I had FOTL and didn't go on any water rides or roller coasters or go to any shows. However, I did ride MIB 7 times in a row and Spiderman 4 times in a row :) I was there when the parks opened and only staid until 6 p.m. (my friend hurt her neck on Spiderman) so I think if you are REALLY focused, you could do it but you would be rushed.

But you will have to work like a park commando. The pace will have to be alot faster. On the flip side, if you have FOTL, you can see all major attractions in no time, but you won't be able to fully enjoy each parks great atmosphere.

Could you tell me a little bit about your friend hurting her neck on Spiderman. We are going to be going to Disney/Universal in April of 04 and my husband has a couple of discs in his neck that are protruding, therefore, cannot do any rides that may injure his neck further. I had been told that Spiderman was mild and was counting that as one he could ride. What kind of ride is Spiderman? How did you friend injure herself?
Thanks,
Julie :(

We did both parks last Tuesday and rode many rides, but had fotl. The new express pass was the best $20 we ever spent. You should get to the park early. We chose to do Universal first, then headed to Islands of Adventure because this park had more rides that we were interested in.

I do intend to stay at one of Universal's hotels which I assumes gets us to the front of the line. Are fotl and express pass something different though? Thanks for being so helpful!

I think the difference is that people who don't stay at the resorts have to pay $20 extra for front of the line access, and we could only get front of the line one time on each ride. People staying in Universal Resorts get unlimited front of the line, and at no extra charge. Someone correct me if I got that wrong. I can say, front of the line was the best. There was a 90 minute wait for Dudley Doright, and we walked on in about 15 minutes with front of the line. Front of the line rules!

Julie,

Regarding my friend and the Spiderman ride. She doesn't have neck or back problems and she is only 36 but the back of the Spiderman car is a bit rough. You get jerked around a lot. Not too severe but enough that I also banged my head against the back and I am not a tall person. She ended up getting a really bad crick in her neck and staid in the bathtub most of the night.

That being said, I proceeded to ride on it several more times and was amazed at the motion difference in the front of the ride. If he wants to try it, I would make sure he only sits in the front row of the car and I would also only sit in the front of the Back to the Future car. If Jimmy Neutron is just like the Hanna Barbara ride it replaced, he might want to sit in the front where the seats don't move at all. I found the Hanna Barbara seats to be very jolting.

Hope that helps, Marley

We were at Universal Sat. Aug 2 and did two parks in one day with three boys (7,7 and 5). We stayed at the PBH so we had FOTL. We started at IOA since I saw they opened IOA for both parks at 9 pm for the fireworks show. I also thought since IOA closed later, US would be busier in the am.

DH walked onto Hulk, while kids and I rode spinning ride next to it. Got off at same time and walked by Fearfall(mistake should have ridden then since they close it in the rain). Rode Spiderman with no wait. Went to Jurassic park and rode River Ride Rode Flying Unicorn three times, and DH went on Dueling Dragons. Off to Posidons's Fury and then Seuss Landing. Cat and the Hat and One Fish Two fish, Kids played in the Zoo Playgraound for about 30 minutes and then we headed back to Jurassic Park since some of the things didn't open until after 10. We did the Discovery Center and Tricerotops Encounter and ate lunch at Thunder Falls (longest wait of the day!!). After luch we rode the two water rides and got SOAKED, not a little, but completly SOAKED!! Then the rain started anyway, so it was okay! Started to exit and decided to ride Spidey one more time and then walked to US in the rain by 3 pm.

US in the rain. Jimmy Neutron first, then off to Twister. Jaws was down in the rain, MIB, then Back to the Future, ET, Terminator and then Shrek. We left US by 6 even though it was open until 9 and IOA until 10. The rain wore everyone out and kids were beat, no strollers. I know we missed a lot of shows, but I felt really good about our 1 day visit.

I highly recommend the hotel front of the line. With the express pass you buy you can only do each ride once and you have to get a pass for it at at a particular time. With the hotel it's unlimited and you just walk right up anytime you want.

One Day we opened USF, Did most of the majors, Went to IOA did all the majors there, Went back to USF for More of the Majors, and Went back to IOA for Marvel Super Hero Island Tour. We left the park a little after 8:00 PM which was two hours before it closed. Staying at one of Universals Hotels with Unlimited Express will allow you to see everything. If the parks keep the same hours you will have 13 Hours to do it all. And by the way, the day we did this the parks were packed.
